CONCACAF GOLD CUP SEMI-FINALS

I TIPPED a USA v Mexico final at the start of the CONCACAF Gold Cup and that looks a certainty.

Mexico have been the outstanding side of the tournament so far but it would be foolish to write off hosts America.

Their semi-final is first up at midnight (BST) and they're aiming for revenge against a Panama side who beat them in the group stage.

Despite that loss the Americans are a best 4-9 with Stan James and I think the bookies have got it right.

Panama are a best 6-1 with Ladbrokes to get the better of Bob Bradley’s men but it’s hard to see them coming unstuck for a second time.

America looked much improved in their quarter-final tie with Jamaica, winning 2-0, and should get the better of a Panama team who needed penalties to beat El Salvador.

The Mexicans have bagged 16 goals in their four games while Honduras have failed to net in two of their four and needed penalties to see off Costa Rica in the quarters.

With Man United striker Javier Hernandez inspired another win for Mexico looks on the cards. Hernandez is 3-1 with unibet to bag the opener.
