IF you thought you were unlucky today spare a thought for the Coral punter who lost £175,000 when Wilfried Bony netted his last-minute winner for Swansea.
The goal prevented him hitting the jackpot on the bookies' challenge to pick 15 football results using a £1 stake.
He needed a draw at Old Trafford to win £187,922.10 but was consoled by collecting £12,264.10 for 14 out of 15.
Coral spokesman David Stevens said: “Bony's 90th-minute winner for the Welsh side proved to be heartbreaking for both the customer and Manchester United fans.
“We weren't able to contact the customer before the final match so we don't yet know if he was aware how close he came to landing the jackpot We almost hope for his sake he didn't as that final goal at Old Trafford would have been rather painful!”

wow! has anyone on here every hit a jackpot that high?
that’s nasty! lol!
Truly amazing to get the first 14 and a shame he didn`t scoop the lot. Let`s hope he also layed the draw for an enormous amount prior to today`s game.
Sickening!!
I’d imagine he’d have known whilst watching the match. Must have been a bag of nerves the poor lad. Probably never get as close again.
Donald, if he knew he should have made an attempt to cover or tried to sort something out with Coral. Would have got a nice price on Man Utd/Swansea double chance late one.
If Wilfried Bony is assaulted any time soon, police will know where to start looking… :)
Gutted for the punter.
Yes its a pity but as Mr. F. says he should have done something to lay the bet.£12,000 is still a nice lift but the bigger pot would have been a big life changer. On a positive note for me it was great to see Man. u. go out.
very sry for the punter very happy for myself lol had £2 on swans win bony 20/1
just hope he covered it
Evening Gents! Yes, so close to glory.. However, £12,264.10 for 14 out of 15 for a £1 is not something to cry about. Also, Coral tweeted that they’re going to offer him a VIP treatment to the same fixture this weekend. Shame, poor chap lol
wow poor man but £12.264 0ff a pound is still a nice profit
wow poor bloke
I’d be swinging from a branch, but as it happens Bonny had me doing some serious dad dancing. Took will hills offer of 20/1 for Bonny anytime and Swans win :)
As the draw would have been about 3/1 to lay he would have had to lay 25k to get a return. Where do you get that sort of money on a Sun afternoon?
