GenericFootball KickOff

I CHOSE to listen the Man Utd game and look at some site stats – and that was probably a good idea.

The commentators talked me out of tuning into the highlights but it really was a game of few chances. I tipped the draw but hoped there would have been goals.

Anyway listening to the low-key affair allowed me as promised to look at some of my wins and losses for this month. I'd planned to post something when the changes to the site are made soon but some negative comments yesterday encouraged me to have a look.

If we were charging for tips all our stats would be up to date and quoted all the time. However, we're selling nothing so I'd rather spend time looking for winners than giving out figures.

Anyway here are some results from this month. The one bet I do every day is the Super Single and out of 26 selections there have been 13 winners – including Forest Green on Monday – and 13 losers.

With every winner paying over evens you can see you'd be in profit backing the single every day. A 50 per cent hit rate of course guarantees a profit if picks were exactly evens but I'd prefer that to be around 60 per cent.

Most days I post a Top Treble and in August I've picked 10 winners and 13 losers. If you'd backed them all for a tenner you'd be £210.85 up.

The 10 winners – to a £10 stake – paid on average 3-1 while the biggest success was an 11-2 chance on the first day of the UK football season.

My both teams to score selections were described as “useless” earlier today. Not quite true.

I've landed six winning trebles this month, paying £59.10, £49.10, £50, £47.50, £64.17 and £38 to £10 stakes.

That's a profit of just over £300 – but then you take away £80 for eight losers. So still £220 in the black.

The singles, top trebles and both teams to score trebles are my main bets and are all up this month.

I also landed a 17-1 homes fivefold on the first day of the season – so can afford 17 losses on the bounce before needing another one. Hopefully that won't happen though.

Punters have to remember beating the bookies is a long-term process during which there will be good days and bad days. Unfortunately some people will judge me on my last tip and that's unfair.

There have been many other wins and losses this month – including a 40-1 aways treble (3 out of 4) and first-scorer picks – and I hope these figures show why this site has become so popular with around one million views expected by the end of the month.

Our old friend Nick Murray of Corby has commented on this article by saying he's kept a record of all my Super Singles for 2013 – all 235 of them.

He reports 235 winners – 65 per cent success rate – and from £10 level stakes he is £974 in profit backing the Super Single only (winnings £1824 – losses £850).

Nick tells me my best run was 12 correct from 13 and the longest winning sequence was eight on the trot in May.

That's the kind of record I want to maintain all season and cheers to Nick for keeping track of them.

Mr F I don’t think you need to justify yourself to the people who have been on your back when a few bets don’t come up. In my opinion they should be ignored totally …I think that’s what you do with attention-seeking weans! They don’t belong on this site ..CBeebies or CBBC is my suggestion ;-)

I think it has been said many times before Mr F but most of the grumbles come from people without a proper staking plan and looking short term. Aside from that you provide reasoning which I think is as important as tips because us punters can’t agree all of the time and when we don’t then its best to leave it alone.

I keep a separate account for your bets and have been doing that for about 2 months and its in profit. I do the same as has been mentioned by others on here and that is a base stake for the trebles and double that stake for the singles.

Talking of winners.. Hills are doing 6/4 Celtic to win with Commons scoring. Crazy price considering Celtic are 1/4 with Commons 8/11 to net at anytime.

With Celtic’s possession likely to be the in the region of 70% and the crowd behind them, I’d imagine the chances of a penalty are increased. Be interesting to see if the price stays, or of they limit the bet.

Peter, that could be a very good shot. Commons is always a threat and looked our most likely in Kazakhstan, and as you’ve stated is first choice penalty taker. Bookies don’t seem to be given much away with Celtic as short as 1/4 to win the match.

I’d like to echo all the above comments. There is no need to jusify your tips Mr. F. All your tips are well reasoned and explained. The nature of betting means that you can’t win them all. Some folk want 100% winners and never to lose. There is a way of never losing and that is not to bet. When I’m going to do bet or two, this is the first place I go. Mr. Fixit and other posters have given me good tips and I have looked at leagues and made bets that I would never have even thought of. As the saying goes, haters gonna hate.

What I like about your tipping is you aren’t arrogant when you win, just as you don’t go bitter when you lose. You seem to have been doing this long enough to learn that going for huge wins every day will usually not pay off in the long run.

Also, this site has been great for a reasoned discussion on bets in a variety of leagues where tipsters such as The Dane et al. can provide a little more knowledge in certain countries.

It is absolutely imperative that punters on here do their own selections and remain disciplined to look at the tips on here as the backbone of their strategy.
As you correctly state, making money from the bookies takes time and has to be viewed over the long term, rather than day by day, or week to week.
This service is free, and as the statistics show, following the advice from Mr Fixit, you will be in the black.
My strong advice is to start with a pot of whatever you can afford and give it a month, and adhere strictly to the tips and you will not be far off.
If you speculate on too many bets everyday, you are only increasing the chances of giving winnings back to the enemy!

ps, I have a friend who was banned from doing a correct score bet every week on the fixed odds coupon. He used to do 5 pence trebles on 3-3 on the four English divisions.
Last year he was up over 7k, and the local bookies put a limit on the number of selections, as do the online bookies.
If anyone knows an online bookie who will allow unlimited selections, let us know and Mr F, it is well worth consideration…

    • Avatar of Mr Fixit
      Mr Fixit 11 years ago

coops, I know people who do this and I’ve had a look. It’s just a bit random for me. How much was he staking then to win £7k? His best bet might be to look at games that have no chance of finishing 3-3 and leave those out which would mean fewer selections.

    • Avatar of Mr Fixit
      Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Nickybhoy, he’ll be doing trebles covering as many games as possible – I don’t know how many but a lot. But for example 200 x 5p trebles would cost a tenner.

    • Avatar of coops
      coops 11 years ago

      Nick,

some bookies won’t let punters select more than a certain number, but if you can get on (especially the lower divisions and Scottish), do as many as you can with 3-3 for example, and 5p or whatever the min bet is and do trebles.
If you get a treble up, it would be say, 33-1 x 10 p, giving 3.40 and then x 33-1, giving just over 100 quid, and then the final leg 33-1 with 100 quid…nice if it comes in!

Since coming on this site I have had my eyes opened to different betting strategies, different markets (that are more profitable in certain league) and also on teams and leagues I would never have looked at before. There is a wealth of knowledge on here and if someone can’t use that along with their own research and judgment to make some money they are doing something wrong.
I have had more winners so far this season than the whole of last 17/1, 28/1, 25/1, 6/1 and 4/1 just yesterday. I bet small stakes only £5 per point but I could bet the same stakes for the remainder of the season lose every day and still be in profit come the end of the season. All those winners were a mixture of Mr. F tips that day and his taken from his comments and opinions on other peoples possible selections. When pairing that with other guys picks on here with hours of research explaining why they have chosen them it makes picking a winner a bit easier.

Best betting, tipping and sports site on the net… bar none.

This could be as much as £100, £200, £400 or for lower stakes £10, £20, £40 so all you need is one win 3 which going by your stats would always be a winner.

    Mr F,

As a long term follower of the site (from a distance over the past few months without commenting as there seems to be a lot of nonsense posted) – I have kept a record of your Super Single and from 235 tips that I have backed in 2013 there has been 152 winners = 65%

From £10 level stakes currently I am £974 in profit from backing SS only (winnings £1824 – losses £850)

There is no doubt by following your SS you will make a profit long term. Your best run this year was 12 correct from 13 and longest winning run was 8 on the trot in May.

    Keep up the good work

    Cheers

Muzza, you can be my stats man. A Record reader also keeps a note of them and the Super Single has been in profit in the paper for all 20 years it has featured. I know I had a good run with the single in May and June – especially on the Confeds and Gold Cup – but those stats are superb and as I said I’d prefer to be up about the 60 per cent mark – so 65 per cent is pleasing.

Mr F – the simple fact is, the site wouldn’t exist if your tips weren’t winning. Like you said, one million can’t be wrong. August was a cracking month for you and therefore us, as above, and unfortunately that will always make anyone left out in the cold resentful. I only started following the site in about November last year, but it’s clear that the guys who have followed you for years know their stuff and aren’t fools, and people like myself wouldn’t be sticking around for this season if Lee was even close to being right about the hit rate or quality of tipping. benny boy, brave punters tend to be losers. Like others if I could treble my money every day I’d be happy – what bank would give you that. If you follow the site you will see bigger accumulators at the weekend. I have to balance between giving people wins (which is what they want more than anything) or speculative bets. Earlier I suggested Orient and Peterborough as a double and that pays 10-1. I often put up first-scorer bets and correct-score bets at 10-1 or thereabouts. But the odds tell a story – that’s the chance you have of winning.

My top tips may have lost tonight but only because I picked the wrong Super Single from my shortlist. I advised a Trixie on Orient, Peterborough and Hamilton and it paid a nice double.
