Newcastle v Tottenham
Premier League Kick Off Saturday 11th August 12:30pm Live on Sky Sports Premier League
AFTER the joy which is a World Cup summer, it is now time for teams and fans a like to get into league football again.
Interestingly, this was the opening fixture for both teams last season as well with Tottenham coming out as 2-0 winners with two second-half goals.
Newcastle have added Salomon Rondon to their ranks and have kept key players such as Ayoze Perez and Jamal Lascelles where Tottenham have the unenviable record of being the first Premier League Side not to sign a player during the summer transfer window but have a young and hungry side who like to score goals.
Expect a packed St James' Park to be willing their team on to an opening-day result where it will be interesting to see how many of Tottenham's World Cup stars will be involved after only recently returning from an extended break.
One that will be sure to be involved is Christian Eriksen and he is always a danger from set-pieces and the edge of the box.
Newcastle's threat looks to be from the duo of Rondon and Perez so I would not be suprised to see either one of them hit the back of the net and with an opening-day buzz filling the stadium, I expect there will be goals in this fixture but for me I suspect Tottenham will come out on top.
