MARSEILLE have made it all the way from the qualifiers to the Europa League Final but face their toughest test yet tonight against Atletico Madrid.
The Spaniards have a stingy defence, aggressive attack and plenty of European nous having twice reached the Champions League final in recent years.
Even without manager Diego Simeone on the touchline tonight in Lyon – he's serving a ban – Atletico can edge victory in 90 minutes. Diego Godin marshalls a defence that is notoriously tough to crack while Antoine Griezmann and Diego Costa provide the cutting edge up front.
Simeone's men have won six of their eight Europa ties this season and should be too strong at 4-5 for a Marseille side who struggle to keep clean sheets.
On paper it doesn't look a goal fest and if Atletico take the lead they're experts at shutting up shop so it could be a low-scoring affair.
There's so much at stake it's likely to be cagey, especially in the early stages, and it's worth adding under 3.5 goals at 1-5 to boost the overall odds.
Diego Costa plays on the edge and will his hair-trigger temper will be tested in the physical battle with the Marseille defence. The former Chelsea hothead was had seven yellows and one red in 21 appearances for Atletico this season and is 7-4 for a card tonight.
