THE GULF in riches between Aris and Man City is wider than Wayne Rooney's smile after his derby winner last Saturday.
But that doesn't mean this is an away banker for Roberto Mancini's men. Far from it.
City launch their Europa League campaign against a Greek side who have never lost at home in Europe over 40 years.
Sides such as Atletico Madrid, Roma and St Etienne have failed to win there and Aris are determined not to lose their incredible record against a team who could give them their toughest test.
The fact Mancini has travelled with Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and the eligible Edin Dzeko suggests he'll give the tie 100 per cent concentration.
If that's the case I can see City edging a win although they aren't so attractive at best odds of 7-10 with Stan James.
Aris are as big as 5-1 with Chandler and the draw pays 11-4 with Betfred.
You can have the Greeks at 7-5 with Coral not to lose.
City were unlucky to go down to a quality United outfit at the weekend and if they produce the same sort of display they should win.
Recommendation:
- Man City (7-10, Stan James)
Cheers for the Clyde tip Paul. Got them at 12/5. Doubled them with Livi @4/7 2nite.
Have a hunch for Shaktar 2moro nite at a nice price.
Not a great horse man but have watched it win a couple of times easily and is 33/1 for Champion Hurdle with bet365 – Silviniano Conti. He’s won 5 outa 6 races and is the youngest horse in the race. Gets a good write up in the middle pages of the R & F Outlook today as he’s running against some Champion Hurdle rivals at Wincanton on Saturday in his last prep race. If it wins it will be more like 8/1 for the big one. Must be worth a couple of quid e/w which I’ve taken.
Cheers
