THERE are not many games to bet on in the Scottish Football Leagues this midweek – but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth having a flutter.
And our lower-league man Joe Wallace has been on the case in the search for a winning treble.
We start in the Irn-Bru First Division and Morton’s home clash with Stirling Albion. In the last six clashes between the sides the Cappielow men are undefeated.
Allan Moore’s men also effectively killed off Falkirk’s title bid on Saturday as they held the Bairns to a 2-2 draw.
They go into this clash against an Albion side they are a huge 21 points ahead of in the table so take the Greenock men to triumph at (8-15, bet365).
We move on to the Second Division and Brechin’s home encounter against Airdrie. Brechin look almost certain to have earned a place in the end-of-season play-offs as they seek to win promotion to the First Division.
On Saturday they earned a creditable draw at runaway leaders Livingston and that result will give them confidence going into this clash with the Diamonds.
Brechin have won the last four battles between the sides so no surprise I am taking them to win this one at (5-6, William Hill).
We finish up in the Third Division and the clash between bottom side Clyde and second-bottom Montrose.
As you would expect there is little to split the sides but Clyde go into this one as narrow favourites to collect all three points with the bookies.
If they win they will move to within three points of their rivals as they desperately look to avoid being Scottish football’s lowest side.
The Broadwood men have won the last three battles between the sides, all by a 2-0 scoreline, so take them to triumph once again at (11-10, various).
SFL treble
- Morton
- Brechin
- Clyde
