FIRST it was Lionel Messi then it was Cristiano Ronaldo – two successful Super Singles on the two best players in the world.

Messi paid 3-1 v PSG and Ronaldo 9-4 v Galatasaray – and it makes perfect sense to aim for three in a row with a player some are saying is the third best on the planet.

On Thursday the Europa League quarter-finals take centre stage and it's Spurs v Basel or should that be Bale v Basel.

I'll be on Gareth at 11-4 with Titanbet – and if nets first I'll add to the clamour of those tagging him best of the rest behind Messi and Ronaldo.

Spurs have treated this tournament seriously throughout and should defeat the Swiss.

Chelsea have been less convincing in Europe and I'd hold off betting on their clash with Rubin Kazan until teams are known with Rafael Benitez threatening to make changes.

It will be much tougher for Newcastle, England's third survivors, as they head for Benfica. There have been suggestions the European run has hit the club's league form and relegation can't be ruled out.

Benfica have won 15 of their last 16 homes so even if Alan Pardew puts out a strong side his men could struggle. The Portuguese are just 9-20 with Titanbet to win on the night.

The final tie sees Fenerbahce take on Lazio and although the Italians should qualify they may have to settle for a first-leg draw in Istanbul.

I’ll be on Spurs, Benfica and Chelsea tomorrow. Can’t call the Fenerbache v Lazio game at all. Had Madrid HT/FT earlier so that turned out well.

Ellis, it ain’t one for me and the only Bangalore Milesey knows is his local takeaway.

Hard to look past Bale, but 20/1 fgs for Vertonghen looks generous.

Robbie d, maybe Vertonghen ew, he’s certainly a threat.

I’m currently looking at two games which are taking place in the early hours of this morning.

The 1st is in the Bolivian Clausura Primera Division

2nd Placed, Oriente Petrolero visit bottom placed LA Paz, which on paper, looks like a pretty convincing away victory. Here are the stats

    La Paz FC
    – currently ranked 12th place in Primera Division – Clausura with only 2 points in the 12th games that have been played.
    – results in last 10 matches: won 0 matches, drawn 2 matches and lost 8 matches
    – scored 6 goals and conceded 17 goals in last 10 matches. (so they aren’t no rollovers, losing 1-0 twice and 2-1 in last three home games)
    – more than 2.5 goals have been scored in 4 of last 10 matches
    – have scored in 6 of last 10 matches
-Amazingly, their last 25 games have read lost 19, drawn 4 and won twice. Even those two victories were against second bottom club, Petrolero who are second bottom with only 7 points from 12.

Orientee Petrolero are currently ranked in 2nd place in the Primera Division – Clausura
    – results in last 10 matches: won 6 matches, drawn 2 matches and lost 2 matches. One of those defeats was away to league leaders, Bolivia
-Their away form isn’t as strong as their home form which reads 5 won five drawn 1 lost none, however they sit 3rd in the away table with 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses, one of which was againsts Bolivia who are 1st in the league.

    – They’ve scored 20 goals and conceded 11 goals in last 10 matches
    – more than 2.5 goals have been scored in 7 of last 10 matches
    – have scored in 9 of last 10 matches

in their last 11 H2H matches, La Paz FC have won 2 matches, Oriente Petrolero won 7 matches, and 2 matches finished a point a piece.
    – La Paz FC scores on average 0.82 goals per match, Oriente Petrolero scores 2.09 goals per match.
    – More than 2.5 goals have been scored in 54.55% of matches between these two teams

From looking at the above, Oriente Petrolero should win this 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1

The other game, I will post very soon. I think it may have been mentioned. It’s Atletico MG v Arsenal S. BTTS looks like it could be the way to go in that game

I have just had one of the worst ever customer service conversations ever and i will not name the culprits as this might be detrimental to the site but suffice to say i will not be using there services ever again.

I cannot believe how inept this person was and if that’s the kind of people they employ i can only think they cannot be all that concerned with customer services.

    Copa Libertadores

One game in the Brazilian Copa Libertadores which has caught my eye is Atletico MG v Arsenal which should kick off at 03;00 GMT although I can not find the game on flash scores.

    Here are the stats…
    Atletico MG
    – They are currently ranked in 2nd place in Mineiro I
    – They are currently ranked in 1st place in Copa Libertadores Grp. 3
    – results in last 10 matches have read, won 10 matches, drawn 0 matches and lost 0 matches
    – They have scored 31 goals and conceded 10 goals in last 10 matches
    – more than 2.5 goals have been scored in 9 of last 10 matches
    – have scored in all of their last 16 matches and both teams to score has occured in 7 of their last 8 home matches, and 7 out of all of their last 8 matches

    Arsenal S.

    – They are currently ranked in 6th place in the Primera Torneo Final
    – They are currently ranked in 3rd place in the Copa Libertadores Grp. 3
    – results in last 10 matches: won 5 matches, drawn 3 matches and lost 2 matches
    – They have scored 15 goals and conceded 13 goals in last 10 matches
    – more than 2.5 goals have been scored in 5 of last 10 matches
    – have scored in 9 of last 10 matches, and BTTS has occured in all of their last 6 away matches and 5 of their 6 last games games have been BTTS

BTTS is priced at 1.9 at Bet 365

  7. Striker 11 years ago

Dean, put the btts bet in the athletico mineiro game before i saw your post based on my own research but reassuring to see others feel this had a good chance

  8. Striker 11 years ago

I reckon oriente petrolero will score at least 2 goals, they are quite prolific scorers. Took them to win in-play a few days ago where they played against The Strongest at 3/1 and they were 1 goal down, didn’t disappoint.

  9. Bryan 11 years ago

  10. Dean 11 years ago

I thought someone on here tipped BTTS. Yeah mate, it looks like a cracking bet at around 1.9 considering most of the scottish games are around the 1.5 mark and this looks pretty solid. I’ve read that Atletico are going to rest some players at the start because they have wrapped up the Copa libertadores, however they have scored in all their last 16 matches so it shouldn’t be a problem. Furthermore, Arsenalhave scored in 9 of their last 10 matches so it looks pretty solid.

Orientee Petrolero look like a solid bet so I think I’m going to go for the double and keep fingers crossed.
It’s great to hear you think it’s got good potential.

Are you going to get on Orientee too Striker, or just play BTTS in Atletico, Arsenal game? Any other tips you want to share?

  11. Bryan 11 years ago

Also fancy over 0.5 away goals in the Boca match — 3/4. Boca have been very poor at home in the competition, losing both games, and I think the away side can at least score. Decided to avoid btts in this game as Boca lost 1-0 at home in the last game.

  12. Dean 11 years ago

Exactly Bryan, you’re spot on there. They have nothing to play for but looking at their goal scoring record and that Arsenal do score, you would fancy them to hit the back of the net at least once.

My only concern is that they rest all of their top players and just send out their reserves. But for all I know, they know how to hit the back of the net.

  13. Bryan 11 years ago

Oriente is certainly one to consider. The home side are in shocking form and Oriente have won the last two away fixtures against them.

  14. Dean 11 years ago

Ok Bryan, I will look into that and see if it’s something I’m interested in going for

  15. Striker 11 years ago

I’ve put on 2 singles – btts in the athletico mineiro and oriente to win. I will stay up for first half of oriente game and if they already score i will hedge it by backing la paz/draw to cover my stake. Can’t see myself staying awake for the other game but hope to see a nice surprise in the morning hopefully.

  16. Dean 11 years ago

Ok, good luck to ya Striker. I’ll be on both singles too

  17. PartTimePunter 11 years ago

    bagged a few winners tonight
first team to score in the Tijuana game @4/
    botafoga to win
and if Boca hang on it cud be all smiles before the athletico v arsnl game..

icant seem to find the la paz game on williamhill, i feel as tho im missin out

  18. Chris Guy 11 years ago

Ronaldo and Messi on a different level to Bale altogether.

  19. Chris Guy 11 years ago

Bale has been playing great and scoring for fun but his name honestly shouldn’t be in the same sentence as Messi or Ronaldo. Good player yes, 3rd best player in the world? Far from it.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Chris, I agree. At the moment he’s not done enough to be ranked third. But if he scores first tonight that’s good enough for me.

    • Sean Ireland 11 years ago

The British press always big up any players from these isles that are a cut above and start calling them world beaters when they arent,Bale is a cut above the other British players at the moment but he will never be on the level of Ronaldo and Messi, same goes with rooney hes very over rated because hes English { with an Irish backgroung i might add },works hard, great determination but hes lacking when it comes to the ability to take the ball around players regularly, wouldnt be in my top 10.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Sean, I’m rating them on players who have made me a profit so it’s 1. Messi, 2. Ronaldo, 3. Bale and 4. Nicky Clark.

    • Sean Ireland 11 years ago

Well on that analysis mrfixit CLIFTONVILLE are the greatest team in world football :)

  20. Carl D 11 years ago

Right, away from the Champions League Botofogo (one of my fav team names) are away to Vasco da Gama @ 11.30 tonight and Bot look good things judging by both sides recent records. Im not sure if Seedorf is suspended because he was sent off last match but with appeals etc im not 100%. If he is then the bet still looks good and this same fixture was played on the 10th March which Bot won 1-0, Lucas with the goal.

Around 13/10 everywhere and could go in a nice double with the draw @ Malaga.

    Around 6/1 for the double

  21. Dean 11 years ago

Well it’s half time and Oriente Petrolero are leading 1-0, however it has been a very open game and going on the stats from bet365‘s live in play streaming, it seems evenly balanced.

Just hoping they can hold on. Second half is now underway

  22. Dean 11 years ago

Wahoooooo! 2-0 Oriente. Time to cover my stake and sit back and relax

  23. Striker 11 years ago

    BTTS also in!!

  24. Striker 11 years ago

I also covered my stake in oriente by popping a few quid la paz’s way but don’t think there’s any need but good for safety. Good night lads!

    GET IN!

Striker, I thought the game was on at 3am so I had no idea they were even playing. Came in before half time, quality!

Well, glad it has came in so early, time to get some sleep. I think I’ll sleep a bit better tonight lol

    FT La Paz 0 – 2 Oriente Petrolero :)
    HT Atletico Mineiro 2 -1 Arsenal :)

    Happy Days!

  27. Dean 11 years ago

    FT 5-2 Atletico Mineiro.

I watched the second half on Bet365 and a huge fight broke out on the pitch after Mineiro scored their final goal in injury time. The police was on the pitch with shield and everything, hilarious. Never seen anything like it

  29. Dean 11 years ago

Obviously, much of the focus will be on the European games being played tonight, however the game which I am most interested in is the Blue Square Premier clash between 4th placed Wrexham and 2nd Placed Mansfield.

Mansfield are flying with 16 wins from their last 17 matches, and they are only kept off the top spot by a Kidderminster side who in similar form. 12 of those wins have come consecutively, and they will be hoping to make it a 13th tonight.

They have also won 9 of their last 10 away games, winning 6 in a row. All of these 6 wins in a row have been by just the one goal. 5 out of 6 have been 1-0 and 2-1 scores.

It’s only 2 wins in 7 for Wrexham, although they are unbeaten in 10 at home in league, going 4-6-0 in that time. However, during those 10 games, they only faced top half opposition twice, both times drawing against 8th and 9th place. Those draws were both 0-0 and came in their last 2 home games, so a step up of opposition should prove too much of a test, especially one so used to winning on the road.

There is huge value in a Mansfield win at 2.9, and 4.5 is on offer for the win by 1 goal, which is great value considering they have won by one goal in all of their last six away games.

However, the bet I will be going with is correct scores of 1-0 and 2-1 Mansfield. As I have already mentioned, Mansfield tend to win by one goal margins and it is difficult to see Wrexham scoring more than one goal considering they havent done that in their last three and they are up against a team that know how to keep the ball out of the net, keeping clean sheets in their last three.

    So my suggestion is:

Back Mansfield to win 1-0 @ 21/2 or 11.5 BetVictor
Back Mansfield to win 2-1 @ 21/2 or 11.5 BetVictor

I’ll be on Bale using Paddy Powers double, treble first goalscorers coupon at 3/1. Scores 1st its 3/1 and another it’s double odds, grabs a third and it’s tree odds.

It’s like betting a hatrick with reassurances for 1 or 2 goals only drawback he hes too score first but surel it’s the best market for frirstscorer gamblers

    Hobro vs Vejle. #2 odds 2.00 @ bet 365

put your money on Vejle. They are number 1 in playing away, they won their last 2 games with brillant play and they are number 2 in the their league.

  33. Greg Browning 11 years ago

Dean and others, cheers or the over 2.5 goals tip last night in the Mineiro game, it was close, haha!

Nothing better than making some money when you are asleep! :)

  34. Dean 11 years ago

Like Tim ,I see value in this match, except I believe it is in backing under 2.5 goals

8 of Hobro’s last 10 matches at home in this league has seen less than three goals, while under 2.5 goals has occured in Vejle’s last 12, and 9 out of their last 10 games away from home in this league has seen less than 3 goals.

    Back Under 2.5 Goals 1.80 @ BetVictor

  35. Dean 11 years ago

No Problem Gregg, it’s what we do!

Stephen, not sure if I’ll get time to look at it, going out for a bit then supposed to be doing some “family” stuff with the kids and that. Doesn’t involve punting unfortunately.

  42. Kim Jong S 11 years ago

@ Dean, like the look of your correct score bet, Wrexham v Mansfield.

I’ve taken that and also done a small stakes double with Spurs 2-0,or 3-0.

I’m also having a bet on Sigma Olomouc U21 v Slavia Prague U21 for the over 2.5 and 3.5,this league is as good as the Dutch second division for goals.

I support Millwall and I’ve just got my Wembley FA Cup tickets through the post. Can’t wait, 9 more days

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Dean, what’s your tip for the game?

  46. Dean 11 years ago

Your guess is as good as mine, but I think we have a chance. We shouldn’t be too overwhelmed by the occasion considering we’ve been to Wembley 3times in the past 3 or 4 years. I’m hoping that our winger James Henry who plays down the right side, recovers in time for the game as he is one of our best players who can cause problems. We’ve brought in Chaplow on loan from Southampton who played an instrumental part in the saints promotion campaign last season. Many Saints fans were upset to see him leave and not get more opportunities from the bench. He’s looked very good for the two or three games we have had him, and has played apart in two or three goals.

Defensively we are very sound, picking up five consecutive clean sheets, but the area where we are very poor is scoring goals, scoring just four goals in our last five games. Our forwards have only managed three goals in 2013, so that says alot. We are really missing James Henry, and Chris Taylor, who is another tricky winger has been injured so we’ve really lacked width to get in behind the defence and cause problems. They should be available though

I think there will be goals, we all know Wigan’s goal scoring abilities and their tendency to let a few in at the same time. An open and attacking game with goals is my prediction

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Dean, I’ve got to say I fancy Wigan. They have some exceptional players lucky to have been born in a football utopia – McCarthy, McArthur and Maloney. Oh, there’s Caldwell too.

  47. Tony 11 years ago

Danny they will both get beat again. Off to waste more money at casino bro

  48. Dean 11 years ago

I agree, but come on, I’m going to Wembley, I need as much optimism as I can lol. Is McCarthy that winger that plays down the left, he’s looked very good. Shaun Maloney is a quality player as well. Our Centre halves are probably the biggest defensive pair in the football league. Mark Beevers is about 6ft 6 and Danny Shittu is a man mountain, who wins everything. Deep down, I think Wigan will edge it. They won’t thrash us though, that I’m certain.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Dean, Shittu’s a monster. Were you the guy who tipped him to score first at something like 50s on the site recently. Think it was against Blackburn.

  49. Greg Browning 11 years ago

Pesci u19’s have got the day off to a good start over 2.5 goals! 3-0 inside 15 mins :)
