IT was tough to call Real Madrid v Bayern Munich last week and no easier to pick a winner tonight.

Bayern lost 1-0 at the Bernabeu despite boasting 70 per cent possession and not bagging an away goal could be crucial.

Real have Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale fully fit and with the dazzling duo in the side you have to expect them to score. If that's the case the holders would need at least three and it could be beyond them.

So I'm going with Bayern at 3-4 with Paddy Power to win tonight but Real to qualify for the Final at 4-6 with McBookie. To go through the holders are 5-4 at Ladbrokes.

Ronaldo hit a brilliant double against Osasuna at the weekend before being subbed and is 7-5 at McBookie to net at any time, 11-2 at Coral to break the deadlock.

Bale, with 20 in his debut season, is 9-2 at bet365 to score first and 29-10 at 888sport just to net.

Mario Mandzukic is 9-2 favourite at McBookie to hit the opener while Arjen Robben will attract support at 11-2 (various). Bayern returned to form at the weekend as they came from behind to beat Werder Bremen 5-2 but are without the infleuential Thiago Alcantara.

Pep Guardiola's men have beaten Real at home eight out of nine attempts and the Spanish have a terrible record in Germany. But I can see them doing just enough to possibly scrape through on away goals so look at both teams to score at 3-5 with Ladbrokes. Bayern and both to score pays 11-5 at Coral.

Recommended Bets

Bayern Munich
(3-4, Paddy Power)

Ronaldo to score
(7-5, McBookie, BetVictor)

Madrid to win and both to score double pays out at 11/2 in bet365 a real eye catcher because there will be definitely goals and I feel the quality upfront for Madrid followed by the great determination of reaching the final may do it. Ancelotti is a well experienced manager to know what needs to be done he can’t sit back away from home especially with the talents upfront.

I had a look at the card market earlier and had a small punt as Unibet were offering some good value. I got on Ramos, Pepe and Boateng to be carded anytime with small stakes. Good luck all.

Madrid to Win in extra time 40-1 bet365. Think it will be a close game so could see 1-0 Bayern and Madrid winning it in extra time. Fingers crossed on Wigan for a 80-1 double

unfortunately bayern has a major weakness on a bench. pep guardiola destroyed bayern’s style within a year in the same way as he has done in barca before. 75% possession, hundreds of meaningless passes, lack of efficiency. cant understand how could germans engage this donk.

Bayern will dominate possession again and will probe down the flanks resulting in plenty of corners
    Bayern -5 is evens
And to get 10 team corners is 4/1

i agree mr f it is a very difficult game to call but i do like your call for ronaldo anytime scorer but with so much talent out there, both teams have players capable of scoring. it sure is a tough one to call.

I see Ronaldo going for a hat-trick tonight. It’s just in his character. Ribery will be cleaning his shoes.

Got to say I’m surprised so many people are backing Bayern tonight. Having to push for a win will leave them more exposed at the back and with Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo against Boetang and Dante, I know where I’d put my money.

    Real DNB 9/4 for me.

Hello. I’m a first time poster and think tonight’s game is extremely difficult to call. In the end I’ve just had a couple of little bets which I think give decent value.
    Bayern 1-0 9/1
    Real. 1-0 16/1
Bayern to win on pens 28/1
Real to win on pens 28/1
I have had a lump on Wigan to win at Birmingham tonight. I’ve seen leeds several times this season and at times have been woeful and for them to win 3-1 at Birmingham on sat surly means that Wigan can go there tonight and bag a result ensuring that they are in the play offs.

Just let anyone know who thinks Bayern Munich will win … Titan bet are offering an enhanced price of 2/1 for the home team

I couldn’t call it so put a tenner on the 2/1 enhanced price with Titanbet and then £15 on Real Double Chance at 21/20 on Bet365. Guarenteed fiver profit.

For me its all about the corners both teams like to use the flanks so corners would be the bet for me
11/10 over 12 good luck tonight.

Bayern Munich to score a penalty in 90 minutes 9/1 @ Ladbrokes

Real Madrid to score a penalty in 90 minutes is 15/1 @ Ladbrokes

Small stakes but a bit of interest.

    Good Luck.

Having a look at the ref stats for tonight, the portuguese dude in charge has shown 15 red cards in his last 20 matches so a sending off looks like the bet for me at around 9/4. He also waved 22 yellow cards over his past 3 champions league games so a nice lump on the bookings market too.

So the way I see it…

    Bayern to win

    Madird to qualify.

Back both, guaranteed that both bets cannot lose while bot have a chance, a real chance, of coming in.

    Negated risk betting.

Mr F, that is what I have taken from your article. I see it as the way to go, thank you for that.

Like it Rustychest, ambitious but wouldnt be that suprised with him fit n his display at weekend. Also how much he wants to get that trophy for Reals 10th European Cup…be on Ronaldo for sure(hat trick?)and as Bayern have been conceding and coming back to win al be doing a scorecast with a Ronaldo to score first n 2-1 Bayern. May take someone else ie…De Maria,Bale so not stung twice If Ronaldo doesnt get on the score sheet.

    Should be a cracker :)

    BTTS in first half…10/1 skybet
    BTTS in both halfs…17/2
Over 3.5 is 11/8 skybet but rather put a few Queen quids on the other 2 markets.
As you can see i expect a few goals.

Heres hoping. Enjoy n stay classy Scotland! ;)
