REAL MADRID head into tonight's derby clash with Atletico Madrid (7pm) after a heavy defeat against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-final.

Furthermore, if Galacticos will lose this match, they could hand Barcelona the Liga title.

Both teams are battling to book second spot. The top three are well clear and will all take their place in the Champions League next season but this is a fantastic looking derby match with just three points separating the two Madrid sides.

The Colchoneros have the best defensive record in La Liga by a country mile and have produced a tremendous W14 D1 L1 record this season, scoring 40 goals and conceding just eight.

They have won their last five at the Calderon. Radamel Falcao's second-half strike secured a monumental 1-0 win over Sevilla in a tightly-contested encounter at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán last weekend. This was the third straight clean sheets in the league.

With Arda Turan still injured, Costa may drop into the hole and Raúl Garcia will probably start ahead of Adrian due to his better defensive qualities.

Jose Mourinho's side have a 4-1 Champions League defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund to try to recover from so the Portuguese boss could rest some of his key players ahead of the second leg.

Real Madrid have scored at a rate of 1.9 goals per game on their travels this season, a far cry from their average of 3.3 per game at home. All of Real Madrid’s five defeats in La Liga this season have come on the road

Alvaro Arbeloa will come back from European suspension but Marcelo is out and Michael Essien is doubtful. Should the Special One opt for wholesale changes to the squad, Casemiro, Nacho and Carvalho are all expected to start.

Real Madrid have won their last nine matches against Atletico in all competitions and nine of their last 10 matches in La Liga. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in seven of Atletico's last eight games in La Liga.

Probable line-ups

Atletico Madrid (4-4-2): Courtois – Juanfran, Godin, Miranda, Filipe Luis – Koke, Suarez, Gabi, R.Garcia – Falcao, Costa.

Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Lopez – Arbeloa, Albiol, Carvalho, Nacho – Modric, Casemiro – Callejon, Kaka, Ronaldo – Benzema.

    £2 (minimum Betfair stake) ?

You can actually set the minimum stake to 10p, but betfair don’t like this and if you play around with the minimum stake they say they will close your account but i’ve not known anyone to have had their account closed, just looking people who use betfair bots, i know of only 1 in 10 years where they found out warned them, they kept using it so they suspended the account, betfair don’t care what people use, or if your greening up, for thats the business they are in, they get their 5% commission from your winnings whatever.

Betting on the exchanges is one of the easiest and most profitable ways to bet these days although there is one aspect that is less flexible than using a traditional bookmaker – the value of stakes.

Betfair imposes a minimum stake of £2 and while this in itself is a modest amount, there may be occasions when stakes below this would be useful.

Begin by placing a £2 bet on a horse in the usual way but specify odds of 1000. A warning advises that you have entered odds greater than 99 – click ok and confirm the bet.

Obviously at this price your bet won’t be matched so now click on ‘My Bets’ and change the stake to add an amount you actually wish to place eg £0.50 – your stake now becomes the original £2 plus the £0.50 = £2.50.

Click on Submit and you will see that you now have 2 bets – 1 of the original £2 stake and a 2nd bet for the £0.50 stake.

All that remains is to cancel the original bet of £2 by clicking the red cross next to it, press ‘Submit’ and then ‘Continue’.

Finally change the odds as required on the remaining bet or click the ‘Take SP’ button.

NB this method is too slow to place bets on the ‘in-play’ markets but it works fine for standard bets.

Alternatively use the Gruss Betting Assistant where stakes as low as £0.01 are possibe.
