IT'S a big night for Cardiff and Partick Thistle with both teams needing a point to secure promotion to the top flights in England and Scotland respectively.

I know Milesey's laying Cardiff but I can see them clinching a place in the Premier League for the first time in fine style.

The pressure's off after last weekend's superb 3-0 defeat of Nottingham Forest and Malky Mackay will have them well prepared to please a sell-out crowd. Charlton won 6-0 at Barnsley are at the weekend so can't be underestimated but it's a home win for me.

Partick Thistle are also close to crossing the finishing line and should do so at home to Raith Rovers. The Jags produced a great escape to beat Airdrie with two goals in the last two minutes at the weekend and they're fored up to complete the job.

In the Premier League there's a big game between Arsenal and Everton as the fight for Champions Leage places goes on. I'll be on the side of the Gunners but it's likely to be close.

There is almost a full Championship card and I'll be looking at Bolton away to Leicester and Brighton at Middlesbrough while Brian McDermott could guide Leeds to their second win in four days at home to Burnley.

In League One Swindon should get back on track while Bradford can continue their charge to a play-off spot by taking care of Rotherham.

There are two other games in the Scottish First Division and I expect Falkirk to bounce back from their Scottish Cup semi-final defeat by beating Dumbarton at home.

It's Livi v Hamilton for the second time in four days. At the weekend it was 3-0 to Accies and although they say no two games are the same you have to fancy the away.

In my Daily Record column I tipped Stevie May at 11-2 to score first and he went on to hit a hat-trick – his second in two matches. He'll be scaring the living daylights out of Livi and is 9-2 at McBookie.com to hit the opener again.

I'll be on May and all the top tips will be on the site by lunchtime.

anyone looking to Birmingham at 6/4 single it may be worth while taking a chace on winning margin market as they’re 16/5 to win by 1 and a massive 13/2 by 2 at paddy power. for example a £20 single would return £50 but £12 on to win by 1 would return £50.40 leaving £8 on to win by 2 for 60

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

    Goffin v Almagro

    Odds: Bet365
    Goffin 5.50
    Almagro 1.14

Almagro showed somewhat of a meltdown against Isner in the Houston final in the US on Sunday, two days on and his back in action against a very stubborn Goffin. Almagro will likely be tired, jet lagged and still have the final defeat in the back of his mind.

Put that together with the fact that Goffin can be a nuisance to anyone on clay, last time out in the French Open he took a set from world No.3 Roger Federer and the fact that in the last 10 clay matches he has only lost to love once there is value here in the +Sets market.

    My tip

Goffin +1.5 sets to beat Almagro
    @ 2.66 Pinnacle

    • mrlufc3131 11 years ago

@Badham – cheers for the Goffin tip – got on Alamgro to win by 2 sets to 1 @4.33 (and then covered it with Goffin to win when Goffin was 1 set up @2.2), cracking tip!

@ Danny,,Can you tell me where you are getting the ‘first leg scores in tonights cup games in Europe’???

Also could you recommend a site for lge tables, form etc… I have been using ‘Eurorivals’ I think their not bad but if you know of anything better I would appreciate it if you could let me know

      Cheers

    • Danny 11 years ago

Joe I got them from Flash Scores for the 1st Leg scores I clicked on the nights fixture for example Teplice – Liberec (Liberec 2-0 up from 1st leg) a page will come up with both teams last 5 games and under that is says head to head for the 2 teams and for form etc I also use flash score don’t know if its better than euro rivals but it does the trick you will notice it has overall form home and away also ht/ft over/under upto 6.5 goals and top goal scorers

    • SilentJoe5 11 years ago

Cheers Danny,,,I use Flashscores all the time for scores/results, a good comprehensive site for some of the lesser known leagues,,but did not know i could access recent form/1st leg scores etc…Its also a site im very familiar with so will be able to get the best out of it. I had checked out some others but they tend to overload you with stats.
Im sure you will agree knowing the 1st leg score in any cup game really helps.
      Thanks mate

    • Danny 11 years ago

nae problem mate its a result if you are already familiar with the site can now use it to your full advantage from now on. No doubt knowing 1st leg results help not to long ago I used to just take blind guesses at teams that sounded familiar from the past to win and would end up with expensive bits of paper all crumbled up haha I still do but I do a bit of research before I lose so at least I can say I tried

  11. Badham 11 years ago

Like the look of that race to two goals Danny! Don’t usually bet on my own team but with the players we’ve got coming back in, sided with the fact what sort of game it is i fancy atleast a couple tonight.

  12. Danny 11 years ago

I liked the look of it coz of the price Arsenal and Cardiff look like they will do it easy days but Swindon looks dodgy don’t know how its only just came to my attention that Swindon have been diabolical for the past 2 months

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Danny, I’m mulling over Swindon, struggled since Di Canio left but if they want to secure a play-off spot they must win tonight.

    • Danny 11 years ago

That’s the thing with them knowing they must win they will take the game to Crewe and could end up getting punished on the counter will be an interesting one

    Singapore S League

Tampine Rovers FC v Brunei DPMM FC

Tampine are out too continue their perfect start too the season and make it 7 wins on the bounce against mid table Brunei. They have found the net 13 times so far while conceding just the 2 at the other end. Brunei have played 3 on the road..winning 1,drawing 1 and losing 1

    HOME WIN 8/11

  17. AC 11 years ago

In regards to the LECIESTER v BOLTON game the last FIVE times these two have played each other it has ended in a draw 0-0, 0-0, 1-1, 2-2, 2-2 … maybe thats why the odds are a bit manic

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

AC, it’s worth considering. The odds on Bolton are big because away wins in the Championship are never guaranteed. I’ve also pointed out it’s possibly Leicester’s last chance to make the play-offs so it’s a massive game. Bolton, however, are the value whether you back them to win or draw no bet, double chance etc.

    • AC 11 years ago

No I agree with the verdict and I want Bolton to win (had a side bet with my mate all season, He’s a Palace fan and when Freedman left to manage Bolton I said they would finish higher than Palace this season, he disagreed, we put some moulah on it) …. Bolton’s current form should be enough to scrap a win …. let’s just hope its not a draw ay

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

AC, I read somewhere that Freedman’s points total this season is 69 with Palace and then Bolton. Got off to a slow start but has done a great job and could even knock Palace out of the play-off spots although Palace v Bolton would be some semi-final.

    • SilentJoe5 11 years ago

Paul,,Im sure Bolton was one of milesys tips at the weekend in one of his posts and I believe at this business end of the season the buzz word is ‘form’, Bolton have it while Leciester do not and I dont see that changing tonight,,it will be tight as most of the Championship games generally are but i reckon Bolton will just shade it.
I have included them in my treble along with Arsenal & Hull,,again 2 ‘form’ teams just now.

Last night my wee Portugal team Pacos Ferrrier got a 1-1 draw at Benfica (cup match) but certainly a team going in the right direction.
Tonight I have another outsider in a cup game, Wolfsburg at B Munich, odds for Wolfsburg 18/1,,I know your chuckling away but you never know (it will be a very small stake) Going to post some cup games later.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

SilentJoe, Milesey tipped them right enough and they gave me an aways treble along with Brighton and Bournemouth.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

BOLTON were saturdays ” single of the day ”

      Milesey

    • SilentJoe5 11 years ago

Paul/Milesy,, On sat i had asked you both for a wee bit of advice,,Milesey posted ‘Bolton’ as his sgl of the day and it was in your treble Paul,,,I was battling with Hull away to Ipswich which you both sided with Ipswich/draw,,,My foursome was Hull,Annan,Peterhead & Alloa,,,,Annan/Peterhead im sure you tipped Paul, went with my gut with Hull and thought Alloa was a good bet at home,,so followed 2 of your tips Paul n 2 of my own…my first substantial win on a sat for a while, thanks to Annan/Peterhead, 2 teams i would not have looked at,,,,so thanks for that:)

Milesey are you on Bolton tonight ???

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

SilentJoe, the best policy is to have your own idea and also look at what myself and Milesey are saying. I don’t think anyone should blindly follow a tipster, if you’re interested in betting you will have some knowledge. Annan were my Super Single in the Record but stupidly took Watford on the site. I had shortlist of six or seven, including Bolton, Brighton and Man City, and all won except Watford. I also tipped Peterhead in the paper and Rory McAllister to score first and he did for the third game running.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

I am, the write up is in the championship tips, you can’t back leicester on that price, and on their form, Bolton are the value bet and the team in form.

      Milesey

    Slovakia League 1

Partizan Bardejov v Slovan Duslo Sala

4th place Partizan entertain 6th place Slovan today in which seems a tough encounter with just 2 places and 3 points separating them after 22 games but when looked into further it’s the home and away records of both clubs that make Partizan an appealing proposition. Partizan have played10 home games, winning 8 and drawing 2 in which they have scored 17 and conceded 4. Slovan on the other hand have played 11 games on the road, winning 4,drawing 1 and losing 6 they have scored 11 and conceded 15 in these matches. Strong home team should chalk
Up another victory against a less than impressive away outfit

    HOME WIN 3/4

  19. Mr H 11 years ago

    Germany Regional Bayern

Vfl Fronlach v TSV 1860 Rosenheim

Bottom club Fronlach entertain 7th place Rosenheim today. The home side have had a terrible season wining just 4 times in 29 attempts and only 1 of those victories have been on home soil. Rosenheim have a decent away record which includes 6 wins, the last of which was an impressive 3-2 victory at 5th place Bayern Unchen II. There’s a clear gulf in class here and the away side should come away with 3 points and inflict further misery on a team already 7 points adrift at the bottom and 11 points from getting out the automatic relegation places

    AWAY WIN 4/5

  22. Greg Browning 11 years ago

    Morning gents

Combination of British and Euro games for me today!

Birmingham can hammer the final nail into Bristol City’s coffin tonight, the home side are all but relegated after Saturdays home loss to Bolton

Birmingham have had a disappointing season but have been plying not to bad recently, they’ve found the net in their last 9 games but more surprising is they ability to score away from home!

They have scored in 22 of their last 25 away matches and play the team with the worst defensive record in the league!

Birmingham have players like Burke and Zigic who can really hurt you and with the home teams defence frailties, would expect Birmingham to score!

    Birmingham win 13/8
    Birmingham over 1.5 goals 5/4

Taking a risk here but I’m going for Blacburn to beat Huddersfield in a huge relegation battle at Elwood

Both teams come into this off the back of a much needed 3 points, Huddersfield especially impressive beating Wolves 3-1

I look at the Blackburn team and think had all the backroom carnage not hhappened they would be much higher in the league, especially considering the personal they have ( Rhodes, Murphy, Pedersen, Robinson, Bentley, Dunn etc)

Blackburn have had a disaster of a season but a good win on sat sets them up here to move clear of the relegation zone!

    Blackburn Win 13/10

St Etienne host Lorient in the French cup with the home team unbeaten in 17 and fighting for a champions league place! They should win this against a team who have failed to win in their last 6 away games!

    St Etienne 11/10

Bastia welcome Bourg-Peronnas in the French national league and need to win to have any hopes of reaching the playoffs!

The visitors have lost their last 3 and are the lowest scores in the league ( 22 goals from 31 games) but its Bastia’s home that stands out, they have won an incredible 47 of their last 60 home matches which is impressive at any level!

    Bastia win 1/1

    Good luck everyone :)

wed – man utd v west ham A
    fri – hull v bristol city H
    sat – Bournemouth v Carlisle H
    sun – fiorentina v torino H
    mon – man utd v villa H

    £25 currently returns £169,

brechin was my team for today

  26. Greg Browning 11 years ago

I rarely do 1st goal scorer but on Saturday when Pittman, Rhodes and Mcallister all scored first, I may start doing a small treble!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Greg, sometimes loads of favourites score first and sometimes they don’t. In Saturday’s Daily Record I tipped Hamilton’s Stevie May (11-2), Peterhead’s Rory McAllister (7-2) and Celtic’s Kris Commons (11-2) all to score first. I did them as singles but wish I’d done the treble. May has hit two hat-tricks in two games and is 9-2 with McBookie tonight and must have a chance. Another player to watch is Falkirk’s Lyle Taylor who has 25 this season and will be looking to make amends for a couple of missed chances against Hibs when he plays Dumbarton tonight.

  27. Greg Browning 11 years ago

Yeah I noticed your singles, some cracking prices too ( I don’t see people giving you a hard time for picking those ones, haha) May is on Fire, word is saints want to keep him but he’s yet to decide!

A nice tenner treble would have paid £1901.25 :)

Going to do a line tonight and will include May and Taylor along with Rhodes!

  28. alex walker 11 years ago

Dont know what the weather is like down south but its no fitba weather up here in scotland. Watch what your betting tonite guys as its about 75mph gales up here! Good luck.

  29. Greg Browning 11 years ago

Yeah good call Alex, just as well Arbroath aren’t playing! Haha!

  30. Paul 11 years ago

    Mr F,
Breaking my rule and backig my own team. Gone for:
Ipswich, Leeds, Bolton, MK Dons, Bradford, Swindon all to win.
Long shot but what do you think? MK dons have cost me a few times this season, hoping they come right tonight.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Paul, myself or Milesey has mentioned some or all of those teams but we wouldn’t recommend putting so many on the same line.
