LAST night was a rollercoaster ride I didn't really enjoy – but in the end it was a profitable one.

I'd written off my treble with Borussia Dortmund 2-1 down to Malaga going into the last minute – but then Germans pulled off that great escape.

Unfortunately Cardiff then conceded a 96th-minute goal to Barnsley – and I've never had so many congratulatory comments about a losing line. Next wait for the final whistle guys.

Hamilton were the third team on my treble and they beat Airdrie 5-0 with Stevie May scoring first as I predicted.

While a last-minute goal killed my treble one brought up single and another gave me a 6-1 both teams to score winner.

Sheffield Wednesday were my 2-1 single at Millwall and it was East Fife who netted late on for a btts fourfold.

Let's hope there's not so much drama on Wednesday as the old ticker can't take it. I'll be on Barcelona and Bayern Munich to join Dortmund and Real Madrid in the Champions League semis by knocking out PSG and Juventus respectively. Milesey's thoughts on these games have already been posted.

Johnstone Paint Trophy winners Crewe tackle Brentford in League One and in Scotland there is a massive game between the top two in the First Division, Partick Thistle v Morton, as well as Annan v Queen's Park in Division Three.

So I might have to trawl the net looking for games to feature in the top tips which will be posted in the morning.

don’t know whats up with Ashley Grimes and Robert Grant quick look at Rochdale’s last 5 games and Donelly has hit 3 while Henderson has scored 2 think Rochdale will build on there 2 away wins with a victory over a southend side who haven’t won in 6

they will be lining up to break the deadlock so found a reasonable bit of value in anytime scorers

League 1 Match up looks a both 2 Score 2 me Similar story with both front men not been firing on all cylinders of late Pogba last scored 5 games ago with a double against Mk Dons since then Scottish and English midfielders Bradden Inman and Luke Murphy have been chipping in with goals. Brentfords Clayton Donaldson hasn’t scored in 5 either strike partner Forrester as well as midfielder Saunders have netted a few a piece since then

Surely with that spiel 1 of them will net anytime

    Norning gents

Will put my selections up later, want to focus on the Haladas v Videoton match in the Hungarian NB1 league – ko 3pm

Videoton have become a bit of a favourite for me over the last few months ( think BP highlighted them) today they are awy to Haladas, a side who’s lowly position is a bit misleading!

Haladas currently lie in 12 and are unbeaten in their last 5 ( 4 draws and 1 win) a deeper look into their home form reveals that they have turned it into a bit if a fortress!

They have only lost 2 of their last 25 home games which is pretty impressive!

Videton since the the league restarted after winter break have played 12, won 10, drawn 1 lost 1 with 10 of these finishing over 2.5 goals

Had a number of bets on Videotons last match (2-1 defeat) but if you saw the stats for that match it’s hard to believe they lost!

    18 shots on target
    14 off target
    And a missed penalty

Videton are only 7/10 to win this match which is a bit short against a team with such a solid home record! Still expect them to win but but best bet for me is to go over 2.5 goals and Videoton team goals

    Over 2.5 goals 21/20
    Videoton over 1.5 goals 5/6
Videoton over 2.5 goals 11/4 ( if they have their shooting boots on)

You could argue that Videoton -1 is an option if I think there will be goals but Haladas home form put me off a bit!

    Good luck :)

    Juventus v Bayern Munich > Wed 10th April 2013

Bayern were the better team at the Allianz Arena but both goals were quite fluky. I didn’t see the deflection but Buffon stated there was on Alaba’s first goal, and who am i to judge Gigi and Bayern’s 2nd goal was offside. The early goal really set back Conte’s men, his lineup relied on keeping Bayern out as much as possible but the early goal set the tone. We should expect to see Vucinic, Asamoah rather than Matri and Peluso. Pogba can also make a difference but I suspect he will start on the bench.

Like most teams that are Pirlo centric like Juve, the Italian NT and Milan of old, they struggle when he’s off his game. Luckily Pirlo rarely plays terribly in back to back games and I expect him to be much better than he was in Munich.

Also if Bayern do net an away goal then Bayern could still coast and lose 2-1, 3-2 or even 3-1 for that matter.

    FC Barcelona v Paris Saint-Germain > Wed 10th April

I expect Barca to win this quite comfortably, PSG were good in the first leg they were comfortable in possession and in Thiago Silva they have one of the best defenders in the game..sound familiar though? Almost the same could be said of the Milan game after the first leg, the only difference this time is that Barca have been less sporting and decided to give themselves more than a good shout of getting through with a couple of away goals thrown in.

One of the big questions is whether Messi will be fit enough to start, the guy rarely ever gets injured and this one doesn’t seem too serious, they certainly didn’t miss him at the weekend, his starting chances as I write appear to be 50/50 I don’t think we will know whether he will play until Wed. As much of a concern are the injuries at the back. Puyol has had surgery, Abidal is coming back from a long and serious illness, Adriano’s injured, and now Mascherano is too, they will have to shuffle the pack as they have had to do a few times this season, they have enough cover though. They were able to rest a few players at the weekend, if Messi doesn’t play Cesc will come in and he is hardly a poor replacement, would certainly be a starter every week at any other club in Europe, warmed up well scoring a hat trick at the weekend. Pedro will be fit to start.

Silva should play for PSG after missing the game at the weekend, they will certainly need him to be fit. DM Blaise Matuidi is suspended so Chantome might come in alongside Beckham. PSG haven’t generally been as strong away this season but still had good results and done well in the CL games winning 3 of 4, I just don’t really see them on the same level as Barca (or anywhere close to be honest), players like Alex and Beckham aren’t really this level anymore and like other ‘oil rich’ sides we have seen when they first start out they splash £100m on the front stars of the team like Ibra, Lavezzi and Lucas and other areas of the team aren’t of the same quality. There is no tougher away game than a CL game away at Barca when they want to win, they are massive favourites to get through to the semis and I expect it will be achieved with the minimum of fuss. If I had to pick out a scoreline i guess it would be 3-1.

Be aware the odds on Barca will likely rise if Messi is unable to play but as I said earlier you will probably be waiting until Wednesday if you want to know this news.

    Morning everyone

Will put up my selections for tonight games later, want to focus on the Haladas v Videoton match in the Hungarian NB1 league – ko 3pm

Videoton have become a favourite of mine over the last few months ( think BH first highlighted them) they are away to Haladas who lie lowly in 12th but their league position is a bit misleading!

Haladas are unbeaten in their last 5 games ( 4 draws and a win) but If you look a bit deeper its their home form which stands out! They’ve turned it into a fortress having only tasted defeated twice in their last 25 home games which is pretty impressive!

Videoton since they came back from the winter break have played 12, won 10, drawn 1, lost 1 with 10 of these being over 2.5 goals!

They lost 2-1 on Sunday, if you saw the stats for that game it’s beyond me how they manged to lose!

    18 shots on target
    14 shots off target
    And a missed penalty

Videton are no bigger than 7/10 to win this math which is a bit short considering Haladas home record! Would expect Videoton to win but the best bet for me is over 2.5 goals and Videton over 1.5 goals

    Over 2.5 goals 21/20
    Videton over 1.5 goals 5/6
Videton over 2.5 goals 11/4 ( if they have their shooting boots on)

You could argue Videoton -1 if I fancy then to score but Haladas home form has put me off!

    Good luck! :)

  26. Greg Browning 11 years ago

    Thanks UG, no probs!

Trust me, give it a few weeks and you’ll be an expert on leagues in countries youu’ve never even heard of, haha :) ( some of the favourites on here from the guys include Singapore, Icelandic, Danish, South American champions league to name a few)

  27. john 11 years ago

Anyone got thoughts on the South Australian game between Metro Stars v Para Hills? Preferably Danny…lol

  28. john 11 years ago

Obviously i didn’t mean that, Metro Stars v Para

    • Danny 11 years ago

John Ive never even heard of them don’t follow football in Adelaide most probably guff like the rest of the other state leagues in Oz

  29. Greg Browning 11 years ago

John, I have thoughts! It’s pish!

    0-0 at half time haha

  30. john 11 years ago

Second half could have goals though?

  31. keg 11 years ago

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Keg, I’ll put up a btts treble ASAP. Need to pick up my son from sports camp then will get to it.

  32. Greg Browning 11 years ago

It could have John, over 1.5 is 4/6

Would expect Metro on win, currently 4/7

  33. john 11 years ago

Just put a bet on for Metro to grab 2 or more

  34. Greg Browning 11 years ago

    Good work John, 2-0 :)

  35. john 11 years ago

    Cheers Danny

  36. john 11 years ago

Yes get in…lol nice little 3/1 shot

  37. Greg Browning 11 years ago

    Forget Barca v PSG

The big game tonight is at Firhill where Parick will hope to move a step closer to the title! A win moves them 5 clear with a game in hand, however, I don’t think it’s going to pan out how they’d like it!

Partick have failed to get the better of Morton in their previous 3 meetings this season , 2-2 draw and two 2-1 defeats! Incedently, Particks last defeat was at home to Moron back in December!

There’s not a lot between the two but I’m going for a Morton win!

Patrick had to endure a tough 120 mins on Sunday then to lose on penalties! Not saying tiredness will be a factor but Morton go into this match knowing nothing less than 3 points will do!

Over 2.5 goals has been priced short at 7/10 but 11/5 for Morton looks great value! Morton have scored twice in all 3 previous meetings and that pays 11/8

    Morton 11/5
    Morton over 1.5 goals 11/8

Another game I fancy is Crewe v Brenford!

Brentford have stuttered recently, however this is a must win game for them! Crewe’s season is over after winning the Johnstones paint at the weekend, they sit mid table with nothing to play and will struggle to get up for this after a day at wembley and hopefully a good few beers!

    Brentford 1/1
    Brentford over 1.5 goals 11/10

    Good luck :)

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Greg, both Thistle v Morton and Crewe v Brentford are tough to call. Have a wee fancy for Thistle just because of their home record and the fact they looked like they were holding something back on Sunday. Hopefully there will be a few goals and we could both be happy.

  38. bIGpUNt 11 years ago

THE ART OF RACING 2.40 Nott 10/1..Great E/W shot from a trainer that is gong to do well this season, just seen this..”Whatever you do in the next few months pay very close attention to the new rookie trainer Olly Stevens and his string of Qatar Racing Limited horses. Sheik Fahad has invested a lot of money in this man and he has put some incredibly well bred 2yo into his new yard at Newmarket. He has also transferred a decent crop of 3yo’s from stables across the land and I’m certain this combination is going to be absolutely deadly this year”.Special mention was made for this horse by stevens whom he believes is a fair bit ahead of the handicapper.Make of this what you wish.

  39. Greg Browning 11 years ago

BIGpUNt, hard luck mate, great wee tip! Just did a fiver each way on it! Beaten by a head!

  40. bIGpUNt 11 years ago

No bother had it E/W myself as id suggested SP @12/1 so happy with that, hate going on low priced tips on faves, more often than not they let you down, ill be looking out for the trainer i mentioned for this season.

  41. Asa W 11 years ago

    Only bet for tonight is

    Over 3.5 goals Barca/PSG 5/4
    Over 2.5 goals Juve/Bayern 5/6

    Double

  42. chas mckendrick 11 years ago

Going to Firhill (for thrills)more in hope than expectation tonight (Ton fan). Letting my heart rule my head (maybe) but it’s last chance for the Ton tonight so using my winning Titanbet (Thanks Mr F) for a Ton draw no bet @ 8/5.
Should be a cracker….the team with the best home record against the team with the best away record.
Like Greg B (see above) I’m hoping Sunday’s game has spiked the jags.
Strange goings on last night with the other £10 titanbet…was watching BBC sports website and closely following a few games for in-play bet.Reading the text quickly Preston looked to be on top and likely to score against Oldham. Was about to take the odds for a Preston win and just as I was about to do so they scored. I then clicked the bet and it took it giving me 10/3 for a Preston win with them leading 1-0 at 77 minutes. Couldn’t believe it. Shurely shome mishtake with their technology!

  43. Willie McGuire 11 years ago

Niki Volou (dont have a price tho?)
    Apollon Smirnis (as above)
    Videoton 8/11
    Karlsruher Evs
    Orlando Pirates 10/11
    Fc Vestjaelland 5/6
    Debreceni 8/13

Bonkers bet and basically went wi league positions!! Bonkers indeed.

  44. Danny 11 years ago

Niki Volos were around 1.10 mark suppose that’s why they eased to a 4-1 victory

and Smyrnis look like holding on away to the ten men of Fokikos around the 1.80 mark hope ive not jinxed it

  45. conor 11 years ago

rangers-linfield over 2.5 goals 4/6 betfair all in

  46. keg 11 years ago

thanks mate not seen it yet on here ill keep looking

  47. Greg Browning 11 years ago

Yeah, couple of really tough matches to call Paul, especially Partick v Morton! Brentford is my more confidant of the two, will keep an eye on them while settling down to watch the Barca match!

Good luck with your tips, went with your BTTS line! :)
