LADBROKES have revealed punters are piling in on Liverpool to win the Premier League.
Bookies are reporting a staggering 40 per cent of all bets placed on the league's winner have been in favour of Jurgen Klopp's side.
And they can't be all from our old friend maccathered. I've tipped Liverpool each way because despite their signings I'm not sure they can close a 20-point gap on Man City at one attempt.
Surprisingly Arsenal are the second most popular side with punters, with 12 per cent of all bets being for the Gunners, while only 3 per cent reckon Chelsea can go all the way.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Klopp has added some serious talent to an already dangerous side and punters clearly think all the value is with Liverpool this season.”
Title favourites Man City have just six per cent of backers but I assume that's because they are odds on.
At 8-11 they are the second-shortest priced side in Premier League history (behind only Chelsea in 06-07) to lift the trophy before a ball has been kicked.

Most popular sides

Liverpool (40%) – 4-1
Arsenal (12%) – 25-1
Man United (9%) – 6-1
Man City (6%) – 8-11
West Ham (5%) – 200-1
Tottenham (5%) – 11-1
Wolves (4%) – 100-1
Chelsea (3%) – 9-1
Meanwhile, Stoke are clear favourites in the Championship at 11-2, with Sunderland heading the betting at 3-1 in League One and Notts County 11-2 favourites in League Two.
As for the National League at 2-1 Salford City are one of the best-backed sides in the country to win a league title come next May and are easily the bookies' biggest market movers having been 11-2 shots when the market first opened.
Apati added: “Backing the favourites across the board right now will pay 875-1, a bet which plenty seem to think there's value in.”

Favourites to win

Premier League – Man City 8-11
Championship – Stoke City 11-2
League One – Sunderland 3-1
League Two – Notts County 11-2
National League – Salford City 2-1
Fivefold pays – 875-1

There are 3 antepost bets for me this season; two from the ‘real football’ lower leages and one form the tinpot Premier League!

    NATIONAL LEAGUE SOUTH:

    BILLERICAY CHAMPIONS…7/2 (188Bet):
    ???

Great squad for the level and spent a shedload on bolstering the team…owner a bit of a ‘character/loose cannon mind!

Should be well in the mix all season and a cut above the other sides.

    ****************************

    NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH:

    YORK PROMOTED…4/1
    (Betway)
    ???

Could be a fairytale ending to an historic year which sees York move out from Bootham Crescent to their new stadium after 86 years

City were impressive in last season’s campaign and this might just be the start of an upward move back to League foootball for the Minstermen after a turbulent few years.

    ****************************

    PREMIER LEAGUE:

    MAN CITY/LIVERPOOL – REVERSE FORECAST…7/4
    (Boylesports)
    ???

Good luck whatever you go with – love an antepost as it invariably adds some longevity and interest to the campaign ?

    • mervin 6 years ago

Maybe I’m over thinking this but does Wolves/Fulham mean:

      a) Wolves AND Fulham
      b) Wolves OR Fulham

Seems you could argue it either way.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I read at as Wolves and Fulham but you’re right it could be either way.

    • aarron19888 6 years ago

i think it’s both, could be wrong though haha

    • aarron19888 6 years ago

      no worries at all @bigpika

    • mervin 6 years ago

      @aarron19888 @cockerspaniel @bigpika

Have your bets for this been removed? Just checked my WillHill account to find £5 back in my account and no sign of my bet being open :s

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

Same Same Mervin . My stake has been returned .

    • mervin 6 years ago

      @aarron19888 @cockerspaniel @bigpika @mrfixitstips

I have just checked the WillHill website and this bet has now be rephrased to make it read easier. However, it has now been priced at 16\5 despite being priced at 70/1 for several days. Surely they can’t just go ahead and cancel peoples bets at 70/1 without any notice at all?!

  9. spursman 6 years ago

I see people backing Spurs for the top 4, I will be backing us not to….a good settled team is good but they won’t be able to stay the distance this time without rotating and lack of quality will hurt us

    • maccathered 6 years ago

I don’t know about that @spursman i think Tottenham should be ok for top four this year, with the contract handed to Harry Kane and the new ground it looks good from the outside,no signing’s but they didn’t really need anyone,it’s all about consistency for me this season something which a lot of the top teams lacked last season and thats why Man City ran away with the league. All the top clubs will be up on this now and if you look at how Liverpool have strengthened and Arsenal it should be lot tighter at the top.I cannot see Manchester United making the top four,no new signings and a Manager who quite frankly has lost the plot and he is the first manager to go in my book at 10/1.

  10. radu 6 years ago

    Benteke over 7.5 goals @ 2.00 ???
Man. Utd to win & Aubameyang top goalscorer @ 51.00 ??
Chelsea to win & Harry Kane top goalscorer @ 41.00 ??
    Ozil over 5.5 goals @ 1.85 ???

@spursman have some faith mate. Our squad will be at least as strong, if not stronger, than last season and another year experienced. Further improvement and some Silverware for me.

For my ante posts I’ve had odds of 7/2 on Lucas Moura scoring O9.5 PL goals from Bet365 and will also be on Swansea to be relegated from Championship at 33/1. Trust me this is a club in freefall and is worth £10 of anyone’s money.
