Yesterday's Jumps selection was well beaten, and like I mentioned even though I prefer the jumps, I'm glad the flat is back today ?. I think this time of year is all about the flat and getting involved in the jumps, unless it's really good racing, is a bit ridiculous.
Catterick 1:00
I can see why Delirious Dream and Premier Option are well-fancied in this contest, as they both have the best form in the race from what's on offer and are both seen to be improvers. However, I think at their current prices they have to be opposed. LIOSA caught my eye with his eye-catching debut run just over a week ago at Hamilton.
That run at Hamilton screamed out to me that this lad needs to drop back in trip, as she clearly has a lot of pace about him. He was free going, which isn't ideal, but he travelled like a dream that day and had the rest of the runners under the pump a long way from home. He didn't quite see the 6f out on a stiff track, but I thought as debuts go, it was a good effort and something that the Nick Bradley team would be more than happy with as they will be able to have plenty of fun over the minimum distance. Nick Bradley runs an amazing syndicate and the number of times he gets horses for cheap and they turn into Class 1 animals is astonishing. I'm not for one minute saying this lad will follow in that trend, but he knows what kind of horses to buy.
They've opted for Catterick, and I think this track could play to his strengths if they go for the front running tactics like last time. This track suits handy types and is about speed due to the downhill nature of the track at the beginning of the 5f. There are some front runners in this race, but I can't envisage them wanting to get into a burnup with Liosa if they want to go forward on him. Delirious Dream has led in the past but hasn't shown anywhere near the same speed figures that Liosa has from his only start. He ran a furlong of around 10.8s at Hamilton which is a stiff track and on soft ground, which seems quick for a horse with no experience and is a 2yo.
Catterick is expecting a little bit of rain, so knowing he handles slow ground is a big plus in my books if more rain comes than expected. At around 8/1 I think he is a cracking EW bet.
Catterick 2:30
This race is arguably the race of the day as it has a mixture of age groups and plenty of horses who arrive well-handicapped on older pieces of form. The one I like is IMPELLER who has to prove he is capable of winning in a Class 4, but I was impressed with him last time out at Doncaster in a Class 6 and the form has worked out nicely.
This horse loves to ridden on the front end, and Catterick will suit him to the ground. He is drawn low which is a help as over 6f they will be going round a bend soon after they break from the stalls, so having a prominent position to save ground is a positive. Drawn in stall 3, Duran Fentiman should be able to get a good sit, and make a good challenge when they enter the straight. This horse is normally fairly quick out the blocks, so hopefully, he does so again today.
He won nicely last time out after a 69 day break. He made all and though that might've flattered by how much he won by, I still think the performance under 10st 3lbs was a good effort. Racing Post rated that performance 78 RPR and considering he was running off a mark of 66, it seems that was a run well above expected. He has gone up 5lbs for that run so has to improve to win this, but he's been given a decent amount of time off the track, and is a horse who likes a break in between his races shown by the fact he's won twice from off a break.
With this being a tough race I think it's best to go for EW in this.
Breakfast Club is first reserve 5.40 Bellewstown, but only 14s with bet365. He’s 33s with Betfred for top 4, so if he gets in, he could be worth an ew bet with Fred.

Romped it by 5 lengths! ?
Wonder where he will run next? ?? ?? I???
Seriously though about Baaeed I was reading an article about how it won’t be the USA like Frankel,Winks and others,it was quite interesting and ashame if he doesn’t which looks certain now. Don’t get it with owners trying to retire Baeed at such a young age unbeaten just so they can say “unbeaten” when selling its offspring when it could definitely go another season or to the US and Dubai maybe and pit itself against the best win or lose . I’d say WIN and regaiit will still be a total cash cow in races and when put out to stud.
