Yesterday's sole selection, Pinwheel, was massively disappointing. It was backed into 11/1 at one stage from 16s, at that point I was feeling even more optimistic about its chances of running a good race. It then drifted out to 18s before the off and well the performance tells you the whole story.
He broke and settled quite well in behind the leading pack but when the pace quickened he started running extremely green, the head carriage was all over the show and within 5 seconds he was out of view on the camera shot.
There’s some decent racing on the flat today and I’ve decided to take another chance on the Andrew Balding trained, Harrow who I tipped on here not too long ago when he finished 2nd at Kempton.
Chelmsford 6:45
I tipped HARROW last time out at Kempton when he came up against the Appleby trained Blue Trial. My selection was given a pretty poor ride that day by jockey David Probert but still managed to power home to finish 2nd, losing out by a nose on the line.
I’m hoping David Probert can identify and correct the mistakes he made that evening and turn the tables on Blue Trial because I still believe the best horse lost in that race. The main error was taking Harrow out wide, losing ground where as Blue Trial took the inner route and had the rail for help.
It’s a cracking little race with 3 of the 6 in the field having met last time out, Find being the other runner who was massively involved in the 3 way race to the line that day.
Find was priced up at 11s last time they met and is now priced at 13/2. Given how close he went against both Harrow and Blue Trial last time out I think that’s more than an attractive price.
My only slight concern is the Balding yard are not in that great of form at present and the Appleby horses seem to never be out of form…
Never change your bet is my motto and I’m sticking with my gut!
Good luck!
