Alan Thomson’s Tips: Zeshov can fly on dry

ZESHOV (4.55) should benefit from the drying ground at Thirsk and is one of two fancies in the divided one-mile handicap.

Zeshov scored off a similar mark at Musselburgh this time last year and his recent third to Trading Point at Beverley offers further encouragement, especially as the winner went in again under a penalty last week. Zeshov missed an engagement at Beverley yesterday to wait for this race.

Bold Spirit is in great form but his wins have come on soft, so Planetaria may be the one to beat given his sound fourth to Glory Awaits in slightly higher grade at Chelmsford City.

MANGO CHUTNEY (5.25) has an excellent record at the Yorkshire track and comes here in good heart following a narrow defeat at the hands of Louis Vaz De Torres at Wetherby nine days ago. He likes to attack late off a strong gallop and I’m just a little worried the lack of a confirmed front-runner may turn this into a tactical affair.

FEATHERY (2.50) gave Red Tea a scare at Pontefract (pair clear) and she wins the vote over Yeah Baby Yeah, a late withdrawal at Wetherby on Saturday.
