Olympics tennis is just 10 days away, and the ATP Tour is deep into its warm up events already. With four tournaments underway this week, we’ve come up with the best bets to make on tennis this Wednesday.
Best Tennis Tips and Predictions Today
Based on the latest tennis odds, here are the bets we suggest taking today:
Hamad Medjedovic to Win a Set vs Stefanos Tsitsipas @ 8/13
NextGen star Hamad Medjedovic takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas in a fascinating match up in Gstaad this Wednesday.
The Serbian has been busy on the clay since losing in Wimbledon qualifying, heading over to the Salzburg Challenger and making the quarter-finals. Tsitsipas, on the other hand, hasn’t played a clay match since the French Open.
Last time Medjedovic played a top name on the ATP Tour, he pushed Daniil Medvedev to a deciding set. The world No. 102 should do the same against Tsitsipas today, with the Greek taking some time to get accustomed to the change in surface.
Casper Ruud to Beat Thiago Monteiro 2-0 @ 8/15
One man who doesn’t need much time to adjust to the European clay is Casper Ruud. The Norwegian only played two matches on grass this year, and will be eager to get back to the red dirt ahead of a hopeful Olympics run.
Ruud takes on Brazil’s Thiago Monteiro, a decent clay courter himself, but not in the same league as him. These kinds of ATP 250 tournaments are Ruud’s bread and butter–there’s a reason why the post-Wimbledon clay court swing is known among tennis fans as ‘the Ruud swing’.
Back the second seed to race through this one with no issues on Wednesday.
Maximilian Marterer +3.5 Handicap vs Francisco Cerundolo @ 1/1
Over in Hamburg, local hero Maximilian Marterer will be hoping for a strong showing in front of his home crowd against Francisco Cerundolo. We expect he will do just that.
Cerundolo has been in patchy form this year, losing his last four matches coming into Hamburg. While he won his opening match, he only did so by a margin of four games against a lucky loser ranked No 100 in the world.
With Marterer playing at home, he should be able to run Cerundolo nice and close.
