Michael Beale has promised to “attack the game head on” tonight as his side aim to book a place in the Champions League Play-Off round at the expense of Servette.
A late flurry of goals put a glossy complexion on Saturday’s win over Livingston and that sees Rangers in better shape ahead of their trip to Switzerland.
Beale’s men were unconvincing in the first leg after a great start and to be fair to Servette they didn’t collapse last week after going two-down early on. Even with 10 men they resisted Rangers’ pressure for the last half hour so there’s still some work for Rangers to do to make it through this tie with it finely balanced at 2-1.
Bookies make them 2/9 to qualify though and the Gers should be capable of getting themselves on the scoresheet as they try to put themselves out Servette’s reach especially if Beale is true to his word about trying to silence the home crowd.
Similar to last week, over 2.5 goals and BTTS is available at 1/1 and could be a good option.
James Tavernier was on the spot for Rangers once again last week to add to his impressive tally of goals for the club. The Gers captain continues to be over-priced to get on the scoresheet at 3/1.
PSV look the probably opponents for the winners of this tie following a 4-1 win over Sturm Graz. The Dutchmen are 11/10 to cement their spot with another win.
The Dutchmen got their league campaign off to a winning start with a 2-0 win over Utrecht and could pick off the Austrians who’ll need to chase goals.
Molde were surprisingly beaten by Faroe Islanders, KÍ Klaksvik, but they’ll be wary of the fact their visitors scored three in Sweden in the last round.
The Norwegian champions are just 1/4 to win and not worth backing at such short odds but there could be goals in this one and Over 3.5 pays 11/10.
Last week we cashed on goals between Aris Limassol and Rakow Czestochowa. The game finished 2-1 and there’s no reason not to go back in on the 43/40 available for Over 2.5 goals tonight.

Bet for August
Grimsby v Salford ( All odds at Sky)
2+away goals 6/4 95% of stake
3+ away goals 11/2 4% of stake
4+ away goals 18/1 1 % of stake
Hope everyone is doing well. Don’t usually have a bet in August but I have had this one planned for months now.
Salford just love playing at Blundell Lane. Their last 2 visits they have scored 4 goals there. Last visit was in December when they won 4-1. I know there’s practically no form to go on so it could be seen as a little risky but what I like is Salford have kept pretty much the core of last seasons team. They’ve added a few quality attacking players. They were the leagues top goal scorers away from home last season. I think anyone who may remember me knows I know this league and most importantly this team inside out. They scored at least 2 on many occasions last season away from home. A quick scan of soccerway will show you how prolific they were away from home. This season so far away from home they scored 2 away at Forest Green, they scored 2 away in the EFL Cup against championship side Preston. 6/4 today on them scoring at least 2 against Grimsby tonight seems very good value especially considering their last 2 visits there have seen them scored 4. The way Grimsby play suits Salford down to a tee and along with them having a much better playing surface than at The Peninsula stadium. I’ll be shocked if they don’t score at least 2. Happy to take 6/4 on them doing just that.
Good luck whatever everyone is on tonight. See you all in a few weeks.
Cheers for posting Den. Good luck with your bets…
Thanks kf and you as well.
i love a good write up. thanks for the time, now it’s over to the teams tonight! cheers

Hey guys can anyone offer advice? I had a betbuilder on with 888 sport Chelsea v Liverpool and 1 leg was Konate to receive a yellow card. Flash scores and other bookies show he was carded on the 85 minute but 888 sport are adement he didn’t and wont pay out. They are difficult like all bookies to get things sorted as you cant talk to a human these days. TIA
He wasn’t booked. He made a foul on Macallister who made the “book him” gesture to the referee. Macallister was booked for that, but Konate wasn’t booked for the foul.
Hi
I think a few of the sites allocated the card that was issued to Nicholas Jackson in the 85th minute. Konate did commit a foul but he wasn’t carded for it.
I feel your pain, I was on 70+ booking pts and, like you, thought Konate received a card as Bet3655 suggested this was the case initially before adjusting their stats.
Sorry, I know it’s probably not the answer you wanted ….
Pete
According to OPTA (who bookies use as their ultimate authority source) no card was issued for Konate.
See for yourself by visiting -> optaplayerstats.statsperform [dot] com
Then choose the date of the match (13/08/2023) and click on the match to see all the detailed stats.
I had this problem with PP when Macguire fouled a player but the ref played on. The ref then booked Macguire but because the game had not been stopped PP never paid out Joke.Flashscore is a good site for looking back at games too.

Can anyone tell me please if any bookies are offering red card odds on the Marseille and AEK games tonight (2 separate games). Checked Paddy and 365, no go, even though Paddy offered red card market for the first leg of the Marseille tie. The AEK / Dinamo game will be absolute chaos and I expect that to translate to reds on the field.
A longer shot for a red is Servette (5/1 Paddy) seeing as they have had players sent off in their last two euro games.
Sky are doing the red card market in these 2 games mate_
Cheers cocker

One bet I really like for tonight.
Servette need to win, rangers corners have dried up and I don’t see us getting forward with the full backs like we did under gerrard. Servette on the Asian handicap corners is 10/11 with the line set at nil, so a draw returns the stake. Looks a decent bet to me that given they need to score and chase the game.
Servette won the corner count 5-2 at ibrox.
Good call

Anyone have any information as to why an in form Stirling are 8/1 tonight against East Kilbride? 4/5 just to score.
Are they playing their under 16s or something? I know teams rotate for this competition and bookies are rarely wrong but can’t find any information to suggest they won’t at least be competitive.
My pals grandson plays with Stirling u14s i will do some digging.
Stirling still worth a bet he says am sticking a free £5 on it.
Yes Stirling are playing an under 20s side in the much less lucrative Challenge Cup tie tonight as they have a big Scottish Cup tie Friday night versus Aberdeen.
EK were evens but now odds on after news broke last night.
will have a dabble at that or team goals , they’ve come in slightly to 13/2 at bet365 but got to imagine those odds will shift if they name a strong line up , cheers 👍
Seen that just as i posted Heisenberg, good point 👍

Rublev to beat Ruusuvuori x Bencic -1.5 sets v Bucsa
Rublev will be keen to get some wins this week after going out in the 1st round in Toronto. Especially with the US open just around the corner. Rublev leads the head to head 2-0 & should dominate the majority of baseline rallies. Bencic has been playing some excellent tennis over the last couple of months. Bucsa lost heavily in recent weeks to Parks & Martic winning just 7 games. Bencic is a level above both of those players & should win without dropping more than 6-8 games.
Purcell to beat Harris 2.10 Bet365 (NB)
I just can’t understand why Harris is favourite in this. Recent form all points towards Purcell who has been playing some very impressive tennis in recent weeks. He beat Auger-Aliassime & should have beaten Murray in Toronto last week. He’s also had 2 good wins in qualifying against Van Assche & the in form Popyrin so will be used to the conditions. Harris has been poor over recent weeks losing tamely to Shimabukuro 6-4 6-3 & last match against Broady 6-3 6-4. He has only won 5 tour matches this season. Harris has power but to hurt Purcell but his consistency all season has not been on show. Purcell will get plenty of balls back which will frustrate Harris. Purcell has reached 6 challenger finals this year & is in the better form & should be favourite for me.

Afternoon gents,
My confidence with yesterday’s picks was misplaced and apologies to anyone who had a go 😔
I’m on the hunt for Chilean goals tonight and think this 2nd leg tie fits the bill for plenty of action:

De bruyne out for up to 4 months. Arsenal’s chance?
Celtic + arsenal double
6.7/1. Bfair
Huge loss for City, still strong but won’t score as many.
Funny as I did mention the other day that De Bruyne is getting on a bit now and struggling to play a whole season then this happens a week later. Will be a big loss for City no doubt. Certainly much weaker as it currently stands compared to last season with losing Gundogan/Mahrez as well. I expect them to make at least 1 signing though possibly even 2 with this news today.
Will be interesting to see how they get on at the weekend against Newcastle who were very impressive against Villa.
He is but he was already carrying the injury Pep took a risk playing him and it backfired. They are strong defensively and will still take some beating.
Yep I was very surprised that he started as you say Macca. Had not played much at all pre season.
I like the look of Bolton tonight. One of the favourites to get promoted this season and have started well so far with two 3-0 wins. Dion Charles is a handful and will likely cause Fleetwood some issues tonight. I also like the corners angle in this game as I expect Bolton to have an awful lot of the ball. Both matches so far they have had over 70% possession along with 9 and 10 corners.

Servette corners sails in. Psv will horse us in the next round 😣
A tiny profit in the end. The 2 early goals and then the 2nd half sending off always meant the corners were struggling unfortunately.
