Fulham have had a tough week, exiting both the EFL Cup and FA Cup in the space of four days. They’ve now won just two of their last ten, against Rotherham and Arsenal, which kind of sums up the Cottagers’ season.
Everton haven’t fared much better. They squeezed past Crystal Palace after a replay only to exit at the hands of Luton Town at the weekend. It was a penally shot out defeat to Fulham in the EFL that derailed things in December after which they’ve one just one point from the last 12 available in the league.
Since a 5-0 win over West Ham 10 matches ago, Fulham have only scored six goals. Everton have netted five in their last eight. So it’s unlikely to be a thriller and the bookies have Under 2.5 goals at 3/4. No goal before 30:00 appeals at 5/6.
Newcastle recorded a rare away win at Fulham in the FA Cup but their solitary success on the road in the league remains an 8-0 hammering of Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. Only the Blades themselves have a worse away record in the top flight.
It’s hard to make a case for them winning at Aston Villa who boast the best home record in the league. Unai Emery’s side need a good win to get out of a bit of a little bit of a rut and look a fair bet at 17/20.
Arsenal’s trip to Nottingham Forest could be trickier than the 2/5 odds suggest. The Gunners haven’t won in the league at the City Ground since 1999 and the hosts are aiming for a fourth consecutive home win in the fixture.
There’s been 17 goals scored in Forest’s matches since the arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo with the Tricky Trees scoring two goals on average and they could land a blow or two this evening. The 8/11 on them finding the net looks a good option for tonight’s accas.
Coventry City are one of the form teams in the Championship and alongside Leicester City make up a 7/5 Double tonight.
Mark Robins has guided the Sky Blues in to the top six and they’ve got a lot of momentum behind them so look in good shape to win at home against Bristol City.
The Foxes have stumbled a little recently but a good 3-0 win over Birmingham in the cup has them back in the wining habit and they can build on that with a win against Swansea.
