AFTER suffering their first defeat in 90 minutes since November 2020 on Saturday, England have the chance to bounce back immediately with a win in over arch-rivals Germany in Munich tonight.
Gareth Southgate has taken the opportunity to have a look at a few squad options ahead of Qatar 2022 but has admitted that some players need to step up to the plate and grab their chance, especially in front of goal. Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Harry Maguire are the only players to have scored more than four goals for their country.
Kane is the obvious threat at 12/5 to score anytime, with Sterling at 11/4, the same price as 43-goal Thomas Muller for Germany.
A few hours after England's surprise loss to Hungary the Germans left European Champions Italy with a point to get their Nations League campaign off and running. Boss Hansi Flick was disappointed just to get a draw against a transitional Italian side but will relish the opportunity for his side to go four points clear of England if they can come out on top tonight.
England are as big as 27/10 (SBK) to win at the Allianz Arena but punters will be thinking twice after a pretty lifeless display in Budapest. Germany at 6/5 look the better value in front of a home crowd. They're unbeaten in 10 games since Hansi Flick replaced Joachim Low following a 2-0 to England the last time the countriues met at Euro 2020.
In the same group Roberto Mancini will be desperate for his side to build on that 1-1 draw with the Germans when they welcome Hungary to Cesena tonight. The Italians are no strangers to a clean sheet and a win to nil looks very plausible at 5/4.

England U21 are on the verge of qualifying and will see this home game v minnows Albania as a great chance to all but seal the deal. England have won + scored over 1.5 goals in all 3 home group games (2-0,3-1,4-1) and in 8 of their last 9. England beat Albania away 0-3 in March and battered them 5-0 last time they played at home at the end of 2020.
Israel know a good win will give them a good chance of making the play offs. They play hapless San Marino who’ve not scored a single goal in 24 games🥴. They’ve lost 23 of those, conceding 95 goals in those games at an average of 4 a game.
Turkey should not be in group C of the Nations League. They’re a cut above the teams in their group and should see off lowly Lithuania, scoring a few goals in the process. While Turkey were putting 4 past San Marino on Saturday, Lithuania were losing at home 0-2 to fellow minnows Luxembourg. They often concede 2+ against better opposition and I’d be amazed if turkey don’t bag a hatful in Vilnius.
