Tennis Prediction and Betting Tips 2024

It’s the final day of the round-robin stage for the Ilie Nastase Group at the ATP Finals in Turin this Thursday, and there’s plenty on the line. With semi-final spots up for grabs as Jannik Sinner takes on Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz squares off against Alex de Minaur, here are our tennis predictions today.

Best tennis tips and predictions today

These are the betting tips we recommend this Thursday, based on the latest odds from bookmaker Betfred.

Sinner to defeat Medvedev 2-0 @ 5/6

Sinner and Medvedev have played a ridiculous number of times so far with 15 matches between them already. Just this year, we saw six matches between them and most of those, five to be precise, were won by Sinner.

We think that paints a pretty clear picture about this matchup and how it’s been going for Medvedev. At times, he still manages to give Sinner some problems but for the most part, it’s a matchup that the Italian has figured out.

The problem for Medvedev is that he’s simply not that devastating from the baseline. He’s very solid, he’ll get many balls back but once he finds himself against a massive wrecking ball like Sinner, he simply can’t do much.

He has a similar problem with Carlos Alcaraz and it’s just a style problem. When these players play their best tennis, the Russian simply has no way to counter. We think with what we’ve seen so far from them, this is a matchup that Sinner will once again likely win easily in two sets.

Fritz to defeat De Minaur 2-0 @ 1/1

Now this is where it gets a bit interesting. Fritz has massively struggled with the Demon in the past, getting beaten by him six times in nine matches. That’s not a good mark for the American but to be fair, a good amount of those happened years ago.

In more recent times, the matchup has been more balanced though De Minaur won both of their last two matches they played, including one earlier this year.

In this spot however, we’re going to back Fritz. In fact, we’re going to back him to win easily, in two sets. It’s rather simple: indoors is a surface where the American can be really tough to play against.

He’s looked really good so far, the serve has been hitting well and he’s been consistent from the baseline, so there isn’t much not to like. De Minaur looks a bit overwhelmed with the occasion, which is normal, so back the American to finish off round robin with another strong win.
