Napoli vs Fiorentina – Over 2.5 Goals

Two sides chasing European football must turn their attention to the Coppa Italia, as Napoli host Fiorentina in the last 16 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Napoli got back to winning ways in Serie A at the weekend, with Luciano Spalletti’s side defeating Sampdoria 1-0, whilst La Viola were thumped 4-0 in Turin against Torino.

Both these sides have only failed to score a combined total of seven times this season in Serie A and are amongst the league highest scorers, bagging 67 goals between them.

Vincenzo Italiano’s Fiorentina side are one of the most entertaining sides to watch in Italy this season and with both sides having plenty of attacking quality at their disposal, I’m happy to go with goals in what could be a cracking cup tie.

Lecce to Score 2+

Two sides at opposite ends of the Serie B table go head to head at the Stadio Via del Mare, as 4th placed Lecce host bottom side Vicenza.

Lecce still boast an unbeaten record at home this season, with Marco Baroni’s side winning five out of eight, including three of their last four.

Vicenza have had a dire season so far, collecting only seven points from their opening 17 matches this term, with both their wins coming against fellow sides in the relegation zone.

Lecce have already bagged 19 goals in their opening eight home matches, scoring 2+ in six of them and I’m backing them to score at least twice against a Vicenza side that has the joint second worst defensive record in Serie B.

Liverpool vs Arsenal – Over 2.5 Goals

After suffering contrasting fortunes in the FA Cup at the weekend, Liverpool and Arsenal meet at Anfield in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final.

Despite going a goal down at home to league 1 Shrewsbury, Liverpool booked their place in the 4th round by winning 4-1, whilst the Gunners went crashing out, losing 1-0 at Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Despite Jürgen Klopp missing key players at AFCON and with injury, they should still start with a strong side, meanwhile, Mikel Arteta will be looking for a response after being dumped out of the FA Cup and should name a strong side also.

Given Liverpool have already found the back of the net 52 times in the league this season coupled up with Arsenal scoring in 12 of their last 13, goals are the safest option and I’m happy to back over 2.5 goals.

AC Milan to Score 2+

Two sides at opposite ends of the Serie A table meet at the San Siro in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia, as Milan host Genoa.

Stefano Pioli’s side ran out convincing 0-3 winners away to lowly Venezia on Sunday, meaning the Rossoneri have now won each of their last three, scoring 10 goals.

Genoa lost 0-1 at home to fellow relegation rivals Spezia at the weekend, meaning Andriy Shevchenko is yet to win any of his first nine Serie A matches in charge, with the Ukrainian losing six of them.

Milan defeated Genoa 0-3 just last month in Serie A and given both sides form coming into this, I’m happy to back the Rossoneri to make the net bulge at least twice here.
