FINAL round of fixtures tonight in what is a incredibly difficult card to suss out due to lots of teams having nothing to play for. I'm focusing on a match that does matter as Rangers make the trip to Austria needing to win
Rapid Vienna v Rangers (KO 5.55pm) – Group G
If you said to Rangers fans in July they would be one match away from qualifying for the knockout stages of the Europa league they would have bitten your hand off and that's exactly the position they are in.
On the whole, Steven Gerrard's side have performed really well in Europe and it should be an extremely competitive match especially as Rapid are also right in the mix to qualify.
One thing that has come to light though especially domestically for Rangers is their discipline problem, far too many red cards and needless bookings haven't helped aid their cause
Before I touch on Rangers, its worth highlighting Rapid Vienna's matches certainly haven't been shy of a booking. Looking back over their Europa league games they have received 26 booking in just 9 games, 3 booking per game.
Those games yielded a total of 53 bookings (almost 6 cards per match) which is an extremely high card count in just 9 matches. Rapid had 3 or more bookings in 7 of those games and given the magnitude of this game I don't see there being any love lost between these two tonight
There has been 5 sending's off in Rangers last 5 matches (4 of those were for Rangers) and questions need to be asked about the temperament of this Rangers side. They are playing a side who certainly don't hold back and this sets us up nicely for a fiercely competitive match. Lets hope Rangers continue to lose the head tonight
