AFTER a hectic run of games over Christmas and New Year we pretty much get a rest from it all until the weekend.
Had a look through this week's midweek card and saying it's slim pickings is putting it politely – not a bad thing though. It means the games that are on you can really have a proper look into.
My thoughts on the week ahead.
Monday
Only 5 games from the UK and Europe and a dozen or so from the English Development League. No bet.
Tuesday
Busiest of the days but again only a handful of Conference and Copa Del Rey games. There is one match taking place in Scotland and Inverness v Falkirk is an interesting one.
Wouldn’t have touched it but then Falkirk go and hammer Dundee United 6-1 which does change things. That result doesn’t make Falkirk a good team make their 3-1 to win a bit more appealing.
A stat that is incredible is Falkirk have scored in 20 of their last 23 visits to the Highlands which is some going. There is no doubt they will have got a massive confidence boost from Saturday’s win and can be backed at 4-5 double chance. Alternatively Falkirk are 5-6 to score before 75 mins – a bet I like the look of.
Wednesday
Again not much to go on – a few Spanish and French cup games. No bet.
Thursday
Worse than Wednesday – spend the time looking at Friday’s. No bet.
Friday
Back to normal – French Ligue 2 return as well as the Dutch games. For those looking for goals there are a host of friendly matches during the week taking place between the Dutch, German, Belgian and Swiss teams from all levels – these games are often good for goals and worth a look.
Not sure if this helps but just throwing my tuppenceworth in on the week ahead. Good luck if you are having a bet.
