A FEW close friends have made the trip to South America to watch Scotland play in Lima and Mexico City – and it's more about the culture than watching the football.

Anyone who has followed Scotland abroad will be aware of the Tartan Army who love visiting new places and sampling new drinks, haha. I don't hold any hopes for us getting a result though.

Peru v Scotland (2am)

It’s a Peruvian send-off as the natives cheer on their qualifying heroes before they depart to Russia. There was some 500,000 people requesting tickets for this match hence why Scotland fans have been charged £88.

We go there with not even a reserve side. Been almost doubles figures in terms of call-offs and another 8 or so being capped for the first time. Quite frankly it’s a farcical decision from the SFA to take on this trip and essentially be warm-up boys for Peru and Mexico.

Even at full strength we’d struggle here but after a long season and a depleted squad you have to fancy Peru, they have been incredibly strong at home beating some of the more fancied sides in South America and will be roared on by a sell-out crowd.

Greg's Tips

  • Peru -1 (23-20, Betway) (NAP)
  • Scotland to lose to Peru and Mexico
  • (4-5, Sky Bet)
