THE business end of the season is approaching in the Brazilian top flight and there are 4 more games tonight before the penultimate round of matches at the weekend. As with most leagues things tend to open up during the last  few weeks of the season and I'm taking there to be goals.

Its not a great league for goals but you get really good value for over 1.5 goals and I don't think the bookies take into account the need some of these teams have for points

Vasco Da Gama v Sao Paulo (KO 10pm)

The hosts sit just three points above the relegation places and really need to get a result here. Their home form has a good chance of keeping them up having lost just one of their last 9 with 8 of those games seeing at least 2 goals.

Sao Paulo have their own incentive to win tonight and have seen over 1.5 goals in 7 of their last 8  – the head 2 head offers support with 9 of their last 10 meetings between these two seeing at least 2 goals.

Chapecoense v Sport Recife (KO 11pm)

18th Host 16th in what is a real 6 pointer here. After 10 Consecutive away defeats, Recife have found a bit of form on the road  at just the right time with 4 points from their last 2 games ( 8 of last 9 over 1.5 goals)

There is nothing to like about Chapecoense , their scoring record is woeful but they are playing against fellow strugglers and with 12 of the last 13 meetings between the sides seeing over 1.5 goals its bodes well

Bahia v Fluminense (KO 11pm)

Another two teams not fully out of the woods yet in terms of avoiding a relegation battle but points here would certainly elevate that. Fluminense's  scoring record is appalling – they've scored just 4 goals in their last 10 matches and away from home have lost 4 of their last 5. 9 of their last 10 on the road have seen 2 or more goals but that's mainly down to the home side scoring

Bahia are strong at home though and have only lost one of their last 13 – id expect them to win this . 11 of last 14 meeting have gone over 1.5 goals

Ceara v Parana (KO 11pm)

A dead rubber for the visitor who are bottom of the league and already relegated. The hosts however, are in decent shape at home – they need a win here to remove any risk of being relegated and should do so against a side who have lost 14 of their last 15 away games

Their last 6 at home have seen over 1.5 goals and hoping they can manage that again tonight

Recommended Bets

  • All 4 games over 1.5 goals
  • 11/4 (Skybet)
  • 10+ goals to be scored
  • 1/1 (Skybet)
