A TRICKY looking card today. Quite a few teams from the Nations League I like the look of with Serbia, Kosovo and Romania bringing in a 6-4 treble but I’m sticking to matters closer to home.
Stenhousemuir v Raith Rovers (KO 3pm)
The Fifers will see this as a perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways and try to close the gap on runaway leaders Arbroath as they travel to play Stenhousemuir.
It’s a tight league and only 11 points separate today’s hosts Stenny who are bottom of the league and second-placed Raith.
Stenhousemuir surprisingly sacked managed Brown Ferguson a few weeks ago and his departure did not have the desired impact as they then lost to relegation rivals Dumbarton.
This will be a tough game for Raith who are a bit inconsistent at the moment but they do have two players in Kevin Nisbet and Liam Buchanan at the business end of the pitch who know where the goal is and have shared an impressive 23 goals between them this season.
I’m taking Raith to inflict another defeat on the managerless hosts.
Recommended Bet
- Raith Rovers to beat Stenhousemuir
- 20-23 (BetVictor) (NAP)
English League 1 and 2 specials
Backing these two every week and been close a few times. Worth some loose change for big returns
- Goal to be scored in the first half 25-1 & 40-1
- Over 1.5 match goals 11-1 & 18-1
Scotland v South Africa (KO 5.20pm)
Not the norm for me betting on the Rugby but I really fancy this – posted on yesterday’s thread.
Scotland face South Africa at Murrayfield today, a country Scotland have lost to in all of the last 6 meetings and if you go back to 2003, Scotland have lost 12 of the 13 encounters.
The Springboks come into this game having beaten France in Paris last weekend, they were beaten by one point against England at Twickenham and went down 30-32 to Australia. Prior to that they defeated both Australia and New Zealand in September.
That’s pretty impressive form against the best sides in world rugby.
This will be a huge test for Scotland as they haven’t played anyone of this standard (apart from Wales who defeated them comfortably in Cardiff a few weeks ago) since the 6 Nations and saying that they are probably playing against one of the top 2-3 sides in the world at the moment.
The Southern Hemisphere sides are always better equipped at this time of year as the home nations are just really kicking off their season.
I’m taking South Africa to edge this against a country they just love beating.
