POOR card for a Friday night – roll on the return of French and Dutch games.
The Merseyside derby doesn’t look as appealing with Liverpool’s main men missing – Liverpool and unders could be the way to go – so it’s off Italy for me.
Fiorentina v Inter Milan (7.45pm)
Prior to two games before Christmas the hosts had seen 7 of their last 8 home matches go over 2.5 goals with 7 of their last 10 seeing both sides find the net. They welcome a misfiring Inter side who have managed a paltry 1 goal in their last 5 matches.
Two of those games though were in the Coppa Italia and league games against Juventus, Milan and Lazio. The head to head is interesting though. Ten of the last 11 meetings between the sides have seen over 2.5 goals (42 goals racked up) with both sides scoring in 8 of those.
For a team that’s sitting third it’s reasonable to think they won’t go another game without scoring and given this match has been loaded with goals recently I’m taking a chance on Inter finding the net again with Fiorentina also contributing.
