Despite being second best to Manchester City when it comes to silverware these days Manchester United have a knack of occassionally being able to turn up for the Derby.
Pep Guardiola’s men have found Old Trafford a tough venue lately, winning just one of their last four visits and today they’re hoping to avoid a third consecutive away defeat in the league.
As For United, they’re trying to avoid a fifth defeat in their opening 10 games but things are looking a little brighter for Erik ten Hag after three wins on the bounce, no matter how unconvincing.
Neither side can claim to be firing on all cylinders but United look a little more fragile of the two which will no doubt swing punters towards the blue half of Manchester at 8/13.
There’s been 20 goals scored in the last four meetings with both teams scoring in each so combining the away win with Over 2.5 Goals could pay dividends at 7/5.
Liverpool boast a brilliant record at home where they’ve only lost once in 46 Premier League matches. That doesn’t bode well for Nottingham Forest who don’t tend to do too well away from home.
Mo Salah has scored 14 in his last Premier League matches at Anfield and is 5/6 to score. Double that up with a Reds’ win for an even money BetBuilder.
Aston Villa look unstoppable at the moment. They’ve scored four in each of their last two games and put six past Brighton a month ago. Luton could be next to feel their wrath at Villa Park today.
To be fair to the Hatters they’ve not conceded more than two goals in a match since the second game of the season but with Villa flying and goals coming from all angles – there’s been in nine different scorers in their last six games – the Villans could rack up a few today. Over 2.5 goals for the home side won’t be far away at 5/6.
Phillipe Clement has an early chance to make a dent in Celtic’s lead at the top of the Premiership. The Hoops’ 0-0 draw at Easter Road gives Rangers the chance to close the gap to five points with a win over Hearts.
The Jambos capitulated against Celtic last week and pressure is mounting on Steven Naismith after a poor start to the season. Things are unlikely to get any better for the former Ger today and it would be a surprise to see them ship three or more today again at even money.

Lukaku plays against Inter tomorrow and is 13/5 to score any time. I wouldn’t normally bet the flat track bully to score in a big game but this one is too tempting
Sorry when I say tomorrow I mean Sunday, which is now today ?

I read this today but with the clocks going back I actually read it yesterday but it’s now today as I write .

Afternoon gents,
Decent day yesterday and Braga kept up their end of the bargain in the later picks…a 10th team corner would have seen the 17/2 land but not to be…musn’t grumble!
Derby-day in the NW today and I’ve picked out the following, form so often goes out the window in these fixtures and don’t see City having everything their own way…

Over 9.5 corners in Monza game at evens. Both teams averaging around six per game and Monza tend to keep it tight, so both should be pushing right to the end. Can’t believe the odds on over 2.5 in manc derby given the history and the fact neither defence is exactly watertight

Looks like City are going all out this afternoon, Evans and Maguire in defence could be a long afternoon for the hosts.
Was thinking the same…city look nailed on.
It looks like City are determined to attack today indeed – perhaps Guardiola has picked up some notes from their 1:0 defeats at Newcastle and Arsenal?

Anyone else experiencing paddy power being very naughty with their cash outs? I’ve noticed they are leaving my winning bets open for 10-15 minutes with a cash out value under my winnings rather than settling them or closing the cash out button. Not sure if deliberate that they hope I will not know I’m a winner and take less on a cash out or if it’s a processing issue.
Same problem with their 2up guarantee, leaving the bet open with lower cash out for similar period of time after the backed team goes 2 up instead of closing it.
Yep winner left open with for me to a few times for a small cashout. Naughty
I mentioned this bet earlier in the week and whilst Brighton ❌ underachieved against it (mainly through treating Ajax with too much respect) I won’t be cashing out:
PSV to score 2.5 goals v Ajax in to evens from 5/4✅
PSV to score 3.5 goals in to 5/2 from 7/2✅
PSV will go for Ajax’s soft underbelly on Sunday with Dutch commentators mentioning psv’s 2010 10-0 win over Feyenoord as a benchmark. ? I think last night showed Ajax can’t rely on their defence even when they are up against a team playing at walking pace, so they won’t have any option but to try to do damage at the other end leaving them open to PSV’s favoured counterattack.
Pretty much went as I said above, Ajax played on the front foot and actually went ahead twice before PSV got in their stride and won 5-2
A decent day yesterday thanks to the late card in the Lens match. Sticking to Norway for my plays today.

All 3 bets at monza came in easy enough at 1.85, 1/1, and 15/8 with it finishing 10-3 in the end. Wish I’d taken more monza team corners but can’t be greedy!

Spanish Primera Division RFEF Group 1.
Gimnastic to score 5-6 ?? NAP…..**
Small side bet
BTTS 11-8
Both at bet365.
This could easily end up 0-0 but going with 2nd place Gimnastic to score as they have managed this in their last 10 away games and in 17 of their last 18 away games home and away.
Coruna have just come up to this league and are a big name and get priced up according to that in general and not on form.
They haven’t won in their 4 home league games and won 2 of 9 in total .
They have drawn 5 of these and I’m hoping it’s 1-1 and not 0-0.
Prediction 1-1 or 0-1
With a couple of minutes left in the NW derby, it looks like City have walked over Utd…no joy for me on the betting/booking front alas!
Well done all with winners ?

A heads up for anyone interested. Man Utd play Newcastle in the EFL cup on Weds. Newcastle will probably have to forfeit this trophy if they are to stand any chance of progressing in the Champions League or finishing high in the Premier League as they are suffering injuries and Tonali’s imminent ban. They are threadbare.
Man Utd are a poor football team but taking a guess Newcastle send a second string here, I could be wrong but I doubt it. United are 11/10 to win.
You’re wrong, they will go strong, only chance of winning anything this season.
We’ll see I think reaching the knockouts in the Champs league is more lucrative than a pop cup.
I also think the Newcastle manager would be very naive if he went for it in this cup with the injuries etc makes no sense.
They don’t need the money, they need a trophy
Your wrong of course they need the money but not in the sense you think, the more money they bring in the more they can spend on players and keep within the ffp rules. A pop cup doesn’t come close. Like I said the Newcastle manager would be a fool to risk big players in this trophy.
What happened in the AZ Alkmaar game?

See a few bookies including William hill and betfred have void bets on AZ Alkmaar. Bet365 refusing to do so they’re wanting to wait 48 hours to see if the game finishes.
They’ve been quick enough to void bets in the past when it’s not in their favour. Belgium v Sweden an example.

Botafogo v Cuiaba 23.00 KO – 12/1+ Betfair

Manoel & Acosta to score
Ok just had a tenfold up (albeit with two voids) so I’ll attempt to share the love tonight. Basketball, 11.30pm UK time: I’ve followed a player called Tyrese Maxey of the 76ers for the first couple of games, he’s been getting more court time than the bookies expected and smashing his lines. They’ve caught on and raised his points line tonight but you can get him on over 3.5 rebounds at 8/11. He’s covered that with 4 and 7 rebounds in his first two games. The risk is he doesn’t get as many minutes tonight as they just played last night, but if he gets over 30 mins on court I expect him to cover this.
I did have a double to get you over evens but have just seen team news that the other player might have limited involvement tonight through injury so I’ll stick with the single on Maxey
One more basketball bet, Wembanyama (Spurs) is a rookie so little track record for us or the bookie. His rebound line has been set at +6.5, he took 12 in the last game and at 7ft 4, I think he can give us some excitement on that line at 4/5, Paddy
