IT will be fascinating to see how Liverpool react today after a bad week that has threatened to ruin Jurgen Klopp's Anfield farewell.

Dropping two points at Old Trafford knocked the Reds off the Premier League summit last Sunday and they followed it up by crashing 3-0 at home to Atalanta in the Europa League on Thursday.

Having looked in decent shape for a Quadruple a few weeks ago, there's now a danger Klopp will only get his hands on the League Cup in his final season as Liverpool boss.

Today's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace is a must-win and the bookies make Klopp's side heavy 2/9 favourites. But the Eagles scored twice at home to Manchester City last week and will fancy their chances against an Anfield defence that's coughing up lots of goals.

Combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays 23/20 at Coral while Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta looks good value at evens (Betfred) to have a shot on target.

Arsenal are ahead of Liverpool only on goal difference and have what looks like a tricky game at home to fifth-placed Aston Villa off the back of a draining Champions League game with Bayern Munich.

But they're helped by the fact Villa were in Conference League action on Thursday and have had two fewer days to recover. Unai Emery's men are also in poor Premier League form so the Gunners are 3/10 hot favourites.

Stats bets offer the best value here with John McGinn 11/10 at Paddy Power to commit over 1.5 fouls and Villa team-mate Moussa Diaby 11/10 at SkyBet to be fouled over 0.5 times.

West Ham United are also coming off the back of a European game on Thursday and need a pick-me-up after losing to Bayer Leverkusen.

Fulham come calling and could be worth a punt at 2/1 (BetMGM) given they have the firepower to hurt the Hammers and beat David Moyes' men 5-0 at Craven Cottage earlier this season.

In the SPFL Premiership, Rangers head north to take on Ross County and will desperate to avoid a slip in what's shaping up as the tightest title race for 20 years.

They've won 2-0 and 1-0 on their last two visits to Dingwall so a Rangers victory with under 3.5 goals looks the shout at 5/4 with Bet365.

Unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen can wrap up the Bundesliga title with a win at home to Werder Bremen and Xabi Alonso's men are 3/14 hot favourites (VBEt).

But Thursday's clash with the Hammers could have an impact so Werder Bremen might be worth a punt at +2 in the handicap (23/25, Unibet).

Rangers’ previous 10 domestic opponents have all recorded multiple cards. Ross County have landed two or more yellows in 10/12 games and also in their last 11 H2Hs with Rangers. Rangers have scored multiple goals in 11/12 domestic games and 11 of their 12 H2Hs with today’s opponents. Good luck.

    Valerenga vs Stabaek

    Valerenga team corners

    Over 6 @ 6/5 (bet365) Nap
    Over 7 @ 2/1 (bet365)

    Small stake
    First half team corners

    Over 4 @ 10/3 (bet365)

Valerenga have hit 17 corners in their two games so far and look like a side which could rack them up in this league with how they play. Stabaek conceded a huge 18 corners in their first fixture and 5 in their home game against an average Bryne side.

Worth keeping an eye on a Blockdeik vs Werder Bremen 2 inplay if it appears. Bremen have hit 10+ goals seven times already this season and their games aren’t usually listed. The goal line is just a bit too high for me for the price but may be value in it if they have their shooting boots on.

    Good luck 🤞

Got a night owl for tonight where I’m heading to Bolivia.
Gualberto host the strongest in a match where I’m expecting plenty of goals.
I couldn’t find much historical data for the home side but looking at form goals seem to be a regular thing. Of their last 9 home games 7 have seen btts+o2.5.
The strongest are almost always good for goals. Of their last 10. 8 have seen o2.5 while 9 have seen btts.
I have no h2h info for the game so there is slightly less research I could do.

I can see Pool having a big drop off after klopps gone , they’ve got a good squad but for me klopp was the reason they’ve competed so well over the last 4-5 seasons , managers like fergie , pep and klopp don’t come around very often ,

    5
    • jamesylfc 2 weeks ago

All depends on the next appointment being the right one, no reason for it to ‘drop off’ if done properly.
Some great young managers out there, the tricky part is selecting the right one.

    • TheMaster 2 weeks ago

Best thing they could do is punt Salah. If the oil barons still want to part with £120m I’d drive him myself if I was the next manager. He is past his best for sure, and that’s funds to rebuild and replace him. Few key guys for Liverpool coming to the twilight, Van Dijyk being another. Always remember Fergie timing his exit from Man U to a tee, knowing he had used up the best of his squad and Man U have never recovered. Same could easy happen at Anfield.

My second single sees me once again heading to Azerbaijan where sabah host qarabag.
Starting with recent h2hs and it seems goals are fairly easy to come by with 5/6 seeing btts +o2.5. Their last 4 have seen 6,7,8 and 3. With the last 3 happening since January.
Form also points to goals with sabah only failing to score once in 6 home games and qarabag seeing o2.5 in their last 10 away with btts in 8 of them.
Still no odds but o2.5 is currently 4/6 so hopefully will be decent for btts+o2.5
Odds were 11/10 with skybet this morning.

How many times do you see it. One team blows there chance and then straight after the other team in the race does exactly the same. Titles City’s. You can’t drop points at home looks like Liverpool’s and arsenal seasons are both over all in one week as soon as arsenal walk off from munch with nothing

I’ll be honest mate I never seen us winning it this year,. I think for a team in transition we have done pretty well to be where we are. Michael Edwards back at the club and a new sporting Director appointed even with Klopp going I’m still confident this team will win a league title soon. Any manager that comes in isn’t going to be such a soft touch when it comes to defending.

      3
    • MrBigChug 2 weeks ago

I agree I think Liverpool have done better than expected and I expected you or us to win the title in all honesty even a week ago but it was nice that we were in the mix. It could be forgiven it points had been dropped away from from home I guess.
