The questions surrounding the title will be answered on Saturday, so on Sunday, our attention will be focused on the race for Europe and the relegation zone.
The schedule kicks off with a match between Lille and Le Havre, for whom three points are a must. This game will be followed by several tough clashes from the bottom and middle of the table, before the highlight of the day between Lyon and Rennes.
There are plenty of teams in Ligue 1 still fighting for something, making every match worth watching. Don’t miss a thing with our expert tips and predictions.
Today’s Ligue 1 betting tips & predictions
Lille vs. Le Havre (2pm)
Lille are one of the two teams in the best form in Ligue 1, and they must continue their winning streak because the other such team are their direct rivals, Rennes.
Le Havre, meanwhile, need just one more win to secure another season in the top flight. They haven’t lost any of their last four matches (D4), but during that stretch, they didn’t face a single team ranked higher than 13th.
Lille are on a completely different level, and we expect Le Havre to lose this time. Given their form, we can expect them to do so with a clean sheet. They haven’t conceded a goal in four consecutive matches against far stronger opponents.
Lille vs. Le Havre top betting tip: Lille to win, BTTS – No
Auxerre vs. Angers (4:15pm)
Auxerre needs three wins in three matches to survive, while their opponents, Angers, need just one point. This makes the match extremely interesting, although we have certain expectations.
Both teams suffer from the same problem—scoring goals—as they are among the three lowest-scoring teams in the league.
Given how important this match is, we expect to see a lot of caution and a 1-0 victory from both teams. We even consider a 0-0 draw, but it is an unnecessary risk.
Auxerre vs. Angers top betting tip: Under 2.5 goals
Paris FC vs. Brest (4:15pm)
Paris FC and Brest are neck and neck in the standings, but in very different forms, even though both teams no longer have anything to play for.
Paris FC avoided relegation with three wins in their last five matches and can now finally play freely and without pressure. Brest haven’t won since early March, having conceded two or more goals in four of their last five matches.
Paris FC are playing exceptional attacking football right now, and we plan to back them to win. But the main prediction is for over 2.5 goals, given both teams’ recent matches.
Paris FC vs. Brest top betting tip: Over 2.5 goals, Paris FC to win
Strasbourg vs. Toulouse (4:15pm)
Strasbourg are certainly aware that they are unlikely to make the top six in their remaining four matches, so we expect them to field a more reserve-heavy lineup and save themselves for their UECL semifinal rematch.
Toulouse have nothing to play for and are completely out of form, especially defensively. At least they can play freely and take advantage of the distracted hosts.
This match is quite unpredictable, so we recommend skipping it if you don’t want to take unnecessary risks. We’re going with over 2.5 goals, mainly because of both teams’ high-scoring matches, but right now, there are also external factors that could get in the way.
Strasbourg vs. Toulouse top betting tip: Over 2.5 goals
Lyon vs. Rennes (7:45pm)
Both Lyon and Rennes are in excellent form, separated by just one point in the standings and eager to qualify for the Champions League next year.
Lyon are one of the strongest home teams in the league, while Rennes are the third-strongest away team. This is a match that could end in a spectacular victory for either team.
It’s impossible to predict who will win—or rather, it’s pointlessly risky to try. We’re going with over 2.5 goals, given that we’ve seen 3+ goals in eight of the last 10 head-to-head matches.
