There’s only one game in the Championship this weekend with so many teams from the second tier involved in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

And it gives both Morton and their visitors Partick Thistle a chance to move up the table in a fascinating battle for promotion.

Thistle have roared back into the title mix since Kris Doolan replaced Ian McCall as boss, racking up three wins a draw.

A three-goal win today at Cappielow would fire the Jags up to second place ahead of Ayr and Dundee but that looks unlikely with most games in this division fiercely contested.

Morton’s recent revival ground to a halt in midweek as they crashed 3-1 at home to Ayr for their first defeat in five matches.

But Dougie Imrie’s men can move above both Thistle and the Honest Men with a victory today and will fancy their chances.

BTTS has landed in the last four meetings so it stands a good chance again at 10/13 with VBet while over 2.5 goals is better at 24/23 with SBK.

Cameron Blues is usually at the heart of the midfield battle for Ton and looks a little overpriced at 4/1 (McBookie) for a sixth card this term.

Dunfermline moved a huge step closer to the League One title in midweek as a 2-0 win over Falkirk moved them eight points clear of the Bairns.

The Pars now head to rock-bottom Peterhead and McBookie make them 1/3 favourites to rack up another victory.

Backing Falkirk to be winning at half-time and full-time against the Blue Toon backfired for me last week, with all five Bairns goals coming after the break.

The same bet pays 11/10 with the Pars today (BetVictor) but I’m more drawn to Dunfermline –1 in the handicap which is the same price at Bet365.

There’s a big game in the battle for play-off places as FC Edinburgh lock horns with Alloa. Going for goals usually pays off with the Wasps and over 2.5 strikes pays 11/14 with SBK while BTTS is shorter at 8/13 with Bet365. Combining them in a bet builder looks the best option.

Dumbarton hold a five-point lead in League Two but that race looks set to go right to the wire with Stirling Albion having two games in hand.

Both sides are at home today but the Sons have a tougher game against a Forfar side who have been reborn under Ray McKinnon.

The Loons have lost just two of their last 11 and beat Dumbarton when these sides last faced off in January. So Forfar could cause a few problems and I like the 5/2 at McBookie for a Stef McCluskey goal as he’s netted three in his last five.

Stirling Albion should find it easier against Bonnyrigg, although Robbie Horn’s strugglers have picked up their performances in recent games.

Backing the Binos to be winning at half-time and full-time pays 6/4 at Bet365, which looks good value for a home game.

Super singles: Blues to be carded (4/1, McBookie), Dunfermline –1 handicap (11/10, Bet365), Stirling HT-FT (6/4, Bet365), McCluskey to score (5/3, McBookie).

McBookie bet builder: Combining BTTS, over 1.5 cards and over 2.5 goals in Edinburgh pays 110/100.
