Rangers vs Celtic (Sunday, 13:00)

Fresh from their 2-2 draw in the Scottish Premiership last weekend, Rangers and Celtic will reconvene at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon to contest a Scottish Cup quarter-final tie.

Last week’s clash was the very definition of a game of two halves, with Rangers blowing Celtic away in the first period to race into a 2-0 lead before the visitors roared back after the break to claim a well-deserved 2-2 draw.

Despite that stalemate, Rangers come into this clash as 21/20 favourites on bet365, with Celtic as big as 11/5 to win in 90 minutes, while another draw is trading at 27/10.

I’ve already put together a three-legged Bet Builder ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm showdown, but I’ve since identified another angle that I’m keen to support in the corners market.

Based on the seasonal statistics, Celtic look well worth siding with to earn a minimum of five corners on Sunday afternoon.

Celtic are priced up at 8/11 on Bet365 to earn over 4.5 corners, however, backing the Hoops to win a corner in both halves boosts the odds to a more attractive 4/5.

No team has averaged more corners per game than Celtic’s 6.86 in the Scottish Premiership this season.

The Hoops’ ability to rack up corners was on show in last week’s derby, where they edged the corner count 7-6.

It’s also worth noting that Celtic registered eight corners when they hosted Rangers at the beginning of the year.

Additionally, in the Scottish League Cup semi-final tie between the sides earlier in the campaign, Celtic racked up 14 corners, albeit across extra time.

Further encouragement comes from the fact that Celtic earned no fewer than seven corners during the second leg of their recent Europa League tie away at Stuttgart.

Having a bumper travelling support behind them this weekend only adds to the appeal of backing Celtic to deliver on the corner front again at Ibrox.
