SlipsTips’ Tips: Marmoush key to even-money Bet Builder

The second of this weekend’s two FA Cup semi-final ties takes place at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, as Nottingham Forest face Manchester City.

Nuno Espirito Santo steered Forest to their first FA Cup semi-final in four years after a penalty shootout win over Brighton.

As for Man City, the FA Cup represents their only opportunity to salvage some silverware from what has been an underwhelming season.

Omar Marmoush has made an impressive impact since joining Man City and he looks well placed to attempt at least two shots on Sunday afternoon. Since making the move from Frankfurt to Manchester at the start of the year, the frequency with which Marmoush has been firing in shots is what catches the eye most. 

The Egyptian ace has averaged a hefty 3.52 shots per game across his 12 Premier League appearances for City to date, a tally bettered only by Erling Haaland (3.70). In fact, Marmoush has registered three or more shots in each of his last five top flight outings. Back Marmoush to continue in that vein against a Nottingham Forest side that will be set up to sit deep and invite plenty of pressure from the Sky Blues.

Neco Williams to Commit 1+ Foul

For the second of two player-based selections, I’ll opt for Neco Williams to commit a minimum of one foul. The Nottingham Forest full-back is averaging a shade under one foul per 90 in the Premier League this season. However, that average has been on the rise in recent weeks, with Williams overstepping the mark in five of his previous six Premier League outings, and he can match those numbers against star-studded Man City at Wembley on Sunday. 

The Welshman could be deployed in direct opposition to the aforementioned Omar Marmoush, who has drawn an average of 1.66 fouls per game since checking in at Man City in January. 

Over 3.5 Man City Corners

With Pep Guardiola’s side expected to dominate possession and dictate the tempo of the game, I’ll conclude the Bet Builder with four or more Man City corners. The Sky Blues have been amongst the most prolific corner takers in the Premier League this season, averaging 6.62 corners per 90 up until this juncture. 

Nottingham Forest, in contrast, are conceding a sizeable 6.42 corners per 90 in the top flight this term, with the Tricky Trees having to defend no fewer than eight flag-kicks when they faced City at the Etihad earlier this season.
