Both seeking to strengthen their respective bids for a top-five finish in the Premier League, Manchester City entertain Aston Villa at the Etihad on Tuesday night.
Man City moved into fourth spot over the weekend thanks to a hard-fought 2-0 win away at Everton.
As for Aston Villa, they are just one point and three places behind City after making it five league wins in succession with a 4-1 thumping of Newcastle at Villa Park on Saturday.

For the first of two player-based selections, I’ll back Omar Marmoush to register a minimum of two shots during this showdown. Since arriving at the Etihad during the January transfer window, Marmoush has averaged a sizable 3.57 shots per game in the Premier League. Dig a little further and it can be seen that Marmoush has attempted two or more shots on goal in each of his last five starts for the Citizens in the top flight.
Expect to see that trend continue on Tuesday night given that Aston Villa are conceding an average of 12.10 shots per 90 in the Premier League this season.
Youri Tielemans to Commit 1+ Foul
Moving into the midfield battleground, I’ll take Youri Tieliemans to commit one or more fouls. The Aston Villa ace has been a regular on the referee’s radar this season, averaging 1.28 fouls per game in the Premier League. In fact, the Belgian international has overstepped the mark at least once in 25 of his 33 top flight outings this term, including seven of his last eight appearances away from Villa Park.
Given the plethora of talent that Man City have in midfield and forward areas, Tielemans should have plenty of defensive work to get through on Tuesday night.

Given the magnitude of this match, I’m more than happy to conclude the Bet Builder with a minimum of three match cards. Manchester City are averaging 1.64 cards per game in the Premier League this season, while Villa’s average comes in at 1.97 per 90.
A combined total of six cards were flashed during this season’s reverse fixture and there is a chance tempers could boil over again on Tuesday night.
