SlipsTips shares a player props selection from Thursday night's Champions League clash between Atalanta and Arsenal.
Atalanta vs Arsenal (Thursday, 20:00)
Arsenal begin their quest for what would be a first-ever Champions League trophy when they go up against Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium on Thursday night.
I’ve already penned an in-depth match preview ahead of this Bergamo battle but I’m going to take this opportunity to go into more detail in regards to one of the three recommended selections outlined.
As already mentioned in the above-linked preview, Atalanta’s Berat Djimsiti is 5/6 on Bet 365 to commit at least one foul on Thursday night.
The Albanian international has been a prolific fouler for the Europa League holders this season, giving away a minimum of one free-kick across each of his four Serie A appearances to date.
Djimsiti also got on the wrong side of the referee during last month’s UEFA Super Cup final clash with Real Madrid, picking up a yellow card in the process.
What's more, he was also cautioned in La Dea’s 2-1 defeat at Torino this term, not to mention he had his name taken in both of last season’s Coppa Italia and Europa League finals respectively.
In fact, the 31-year-old ended last season with a sizable yellow card count of nine across all competitions, further highlighting his habit for sticking the boot in.
Djimsiti should be kept busy on Thursday night against what is a vibrant Arsenal attack, with his direct opponent likely to be either Gabriel Martinelli or Raheem Sterling.
Martinelli has drawn an average of one foul per-game in the Premier League this season, while Sterling was earning parent club Chelsea an average of 1.88 fouls per 90 in the top-flight last term.
Thus, siding with the aforementioned Djimsiti to be reprimanded just once on Thursday night represents a great value option at 5/6 with Bet 365.
