Eintracht Frankfurt and Tottenham Hotspur will look to take a step closer to Europa League glory when they square off in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday night.
Following last week’s 1-1 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, this tie is delicately poised ahead of this week’s return match at Deutsche Bank Park.
I’ve already penned a separate match preview on this clash but I’m now going to propose a three-legged Bet Builder.
Both Teams to Score
Both teams scored during last week’s first leg and I’m more than happy to get the Bet Builder up and running by siding with a repeat during this week’s second leg. Each team has obliged in seven of the Eagles' 11 Europa League matches this season, not to mention the same bet would have paid out in 10 of their 15 Bundesliga home games this term to date.
As for Tottenham, they have also provided a winning BTTS selection in seven of their 11 continental contests this season, including four of their five outings away from their English capital headquarters.
Over 2.5 Goals
With both sides accustomed to high-scoring shootouts, it makes sense to side with over 2.5 goals as the second leg of the Bet Builder. Each of Eintracht Frankfurt’s two encounters with Ajax in the previous round broke the over 2.5 goal barrier, with their home match against the Dutch giants delivering five match strikes.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have also been involved in a number of high-scoring Europa League affairs this season, with three of their five away days producing over 2.5 goals, one of which was against Bundesliga opposition in the shape of Hoffenheim.
Rodrigo Bentancur to Commit 1+ Foul
I’ll wrap up the Bet Builder with a player-based selection by opting for Rodrigo Bentancur to commit a minimum of one foul. The all-action Uruguayan midfielder is averaging 1.70 fouls per game in the Europa League this season, overstepping the mark twice during last week’s first leg. It’s also worth noting that Bentancur has been booked 11 times across his 36 appearances for Spurs across all competitions this season.
