The DP World Tour remains in lands afar for this week's Singapore Classic at the Classic Course, Laguna National Resort, Singapore.

The 132 field with the top 65 including tied will all be competing for a share of the $2M prize purse with the winner collecting the Singapore Classic title and a winner’s cheque for $333,400.

This is the first time in almost 10 years that the DPWT has hosted an event in Singapore so not much to go on I’m afraid around what has been described as the toughest golf course in Asia.

The Classic Course will be playing 7,420 yards long this week, it’s a par 72 parkland layout with the key attribute being who has the hottest putter to collect those birdies which will apparently be few and far between this week.

I’ve already posted my PGA preview for the biggest golfing event of the year so far at TPC Scottsdale for the Waste Management Phoenix Open on the Stadium Course. It’s dubbed the greatest show on grass for a reason. You can view the preview on the MFT website or on Twitter @TheCaddy18.

The weather forecasts spell of thunder and lightning throughout so expect some delays. Breezes are expected to peak at around 12mph.

This event will be screened on Sky Sports Golf & Sky Sports Main Event with live coverage starting at 5.30 am on Thursday morning.

This event starts just before midnight tonight so be sure to have any pre-tournament wagers on before then.

Alexander Bjork 25/1 EW Bet365 1-5 places

For my first and main selection to win the Singapore Classic, I’m going to single out Alexander Bjork 25/1 EW Bet365 1-5 places or 20/1 EW Boylesports 1-8 places. The 32-year-old one from Sweden ticks all the boxes for me this week with some fine recent form in the bag. In the three events entered this year, the Swede has finished no worse than 28th with his best performance being runner-up last weekend at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship.

In the twenty-one events he entered in 2022 he finished in the Top 20 on seven occasions so that’s a one-in-three success rate, his price to achieve this again this week is 7/5 Bet365 so definitely worth an interest in my opinion. Bjork still only has one DPWT title to his name but that was won in Asia when scooping the Volvo China Open.

It could be another winning return to Asia for Alexander Bjork when he doubles up with another W in the bag winning the Singapore Classic on Sunday morning.

Adrian Otaegui 25/1 EW Bet365 1-5 places

For my next best betting tip at Laguna National Resort, I’m going to advise Adrian Otaegui 25/1 EW Bet365 1-5 places or 22/1 EW Boylesports 1-8 places. The 30-year-old from San Sabastian, Spain had a good year in 2022 winning the Andalucia Masters and was runner up at both the ISPS Handa Championship in Spain and the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

All in all he had twelve Top 20 finishes last year with six of those being inside the Top 10. The Spaniard has made the cut at all three events entered in 2023 and this tough track should suit his game. He has four DPWT titles already in the bag which could have been more with six runner-up places.

With not much to go on around here, it could come down to experience and Adrian Otaegui could use this to his advantage as he makes it a famous five DPWT crowns this weekend when he adds the Singapore Classic to his collection.

Adri Arnaus 28/1 EW Betfred 1-5 places

For my final outright pick, I’m going to suggest another of the As to make it a triple AAA weekend in Singapore. Adri Arnaus looks tempting at 28/1 EW Betfred 1-5 places or if you're looking for more place value why not try 20/1 EW BoyleSports 1-8 places?

The 28-year-old from Barcelona, Spain has two Top 20 finishes at the last two attempts so arrives in Singapore brimming with confidence. 13th at the Dubai Desert Classic can be backed up with a 6th place finish last weekend at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship. He finished inside the Top 10 at the flagship DP World Tour Championship to end 2022 with form in the bag.

He is another who can look back to last year and be proud of his efforts. Winner at the Catalunya Championship in his homeland, runner-up at the MyGolfLife Open and 3rd at the Saudi International.

His best efforts came at the start of the year so I’m counting on Adri Arnaus again this weekend. He collected some place money for us last week, hopefully, he can better that this week when he holds the Singapore Classic trophy aloft as we all form an orderly queue to collect.

So all that’s left now is the match bet and for this week's NAP, I’m going to recommend that George Coetzee gets the better of Romain Langasque over 72 holes 10/11 Nap Bet365.
