Monday, Goodison Park, 8pm, live on Sky Sports 1

THERE is a decent-looking match on Sky tonight and remember the last time they were the Monday offering Everton produced a dazzling display to beat Man United.

If they repeat that performance I have no doubt Davie Moyes' men will beat a Newcastle side with a few defensive problems.

In the past a team might not worry too much about going to Goodison with a weakened defence but now Everton have plenty of weapons with the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Nikica Jelavic, Kevin Mirallas and Steven Pienaar all capable of chipping in with goals.

So Everton are rightly favourites at 5-6 with the likes of Paddy Power, Coral and Blue Square to pick up the points against a side without keeper Tim Krul and facing the loss of skipper Fabricio Coloccini. Midfielder Cheick Tiote will also be a loss.

Newcastle are as big as 17-4 at BetVictor with the same firm offer 27-10 on the draw.

But it's Everton to me and for first scorer I'd look no further than Fellaino or Jelavic. Both have been among the goals this season but with Newcastle having to field a makeshift backline then the Belgium could be one to back for his aerial power.

Fellaini is 8-1 at BetVictor and William Hill to hit the opener with Jelavic 11-2 at the same firms.

Pienaar is 12-1 at various firms and if you fancy a player to score punt consider deadball expert and penalty taker Leighton Baines at 6-1 with William Hill and Paddy Power. He is 16-1 with Hills and BetVictor to break the deadlock.

I'm hoping for a few goals in an exciting game and over 2.75 pays 5-4 at BetVictor.

Recommendations

Everton
(5-6, various)

Over 2.5 goals
(5-4, BetVictor)

Fellaini to score first
(8-1, BetVictor, William Hill)

Baines to score
(6-1, Paddy Power, William Hill)

Paul when will you be putting up the tuesday champions league tips? I want to put everton in but I’m undecided on a couple of games and would like your thoughts. Cheers

Pedro, I won’t be doing them until tomorrow. Will spend the morning doing some research then post them. I’ve been looking at the coupon all day and have idea about who I’ll be taking with obviously the Real Madrid v Man City one the big tie.

    Hi Paul

    Steven Pienaar score any time

    5/1 with hills

  5. pedro 12 years ago

I think real will up their game for that one

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Pedro, Real should be too good for City as long as the Ronaldo situation doesn’t affect their performance.

  6. Thomas 12 years ago

I think tonight’s game will end 1-1 with Newcastle scoring first with a late penalty from Everton. It’ll likely be very close.

Bet of the week has got to be Man City draw no bet (5/2); Madrid only 4 points from first 4 games and City will want to make a statement to show how far they have come since Bayern Munich last year.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Thomas, that’s a pretty specific prediction. Should be a good game but i’ll stick with Everton.

I fancy btts tonight and also fancy everton so took them 2-1 + 3-1.

Hi Mr Fix it, pls any idea of any Leagues in the world that has a good result on both teams to score.

    Thank you for tonites game.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Ade, I concentrate on last six games form guides and historical stats. The tips I put up are mostly from English and Scottish leagues plus a Sunday European one. Dutch leagues stand out for me as good ones to look at.

    • RPB 12 years ago

Norway second tier usually has most (over 75%) of games BTTS. Total goalfest.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

RPB, will look out for those but for sure a lot of those lower-league games are good for btts.

I’ve gone for the William hill special jelavic anytime and everton win @ 5/2 good value I thought summat to watch for, and then a cheeky go on cisse who is due a goal and like his style of play at 11/4 anytime gd luck everyone

Ade sweden and norway are usually goals galore

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Aaron, Swiss also pretty good and plenty of lower leagues. Anyone interested in these games should spend some time on the research and it should pay dividends.

    Jelavic 1st goal 11/2 and scorecast 2-1 everton 35/1

    come on the everton

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Danny, lower down the ladder you go the less reliable are the results.

    • Danny 12 years ago

no doubt about it Paul can be a gutter sometimes never learn my lesson with these leagues

  13. Joe knotts 12 years ago

Nice pick with baines paul! Hope u done him first as well as anytime?!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Joe, took both because I quite fancied it but 6-1 at anytime seemed better value than 16-1 to score first. Lucky I suppose Jelavic’s early goal was offside.

  14. Joe knotts 12 years ago

Got my free tenner bet for betway. Cheers paul/admin :)

  15. Joe knotts 12 years ago

Fellaini goal wrongly chalked off and ball over the line not given! Dont think my 2-1 is destined to come in!!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Joe, thought you had got the 2-1 win till snatched away at the end. I got up Baines and over 2.5 goals but lost out with that Fellaini goal that was wrongly ruled out and also Everton not winning. Should have been 4-2 so maybe bookies will pay out!

    • pedro 12 years ago

I wish you weren’t joking about that paul! Tired of backing odds on shots and them getting beat!!!!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Pedro, nothing worse than being let down by the officials. Two perfectly good goals ruled out and Everton don’t win. But that’s football betting for you. There are always ups and downs.

  16. Joe knotts 12 years ago

over 500/1 for mulgrew and ibra anytine, zenit ti score both halves, blackburn -2 and blackpool v boro over 3.5 gls. worth a quid surely.
got arsenal milan psg leeds blackburn and man utd on tae plus another 5 team BTTS acca too.
think zenit overpriced wi hulk kerzakhov etc in team now and 17/5 to score both halves looks far too big

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Craig, it’s a true 500-1 chance. Good luck with those.
