HERE are some interesting stats sent out by William Hill on the weekend games in the SPFL for anyone having a bet.
I'll try to make this a regular feature if there's demand and let's see how many of them come up. Cheers to Owen Scott for the research.
Hearts v Celtic
Celtic's last two visits to Tynecastle have both ended 4-0 to Celtic. Celtic to score 4 or more goals 4-1.
Kilmarnock v Inverness
Inverness are still unbeaten this season and in 10 of the last 11 meetings between the sides both teams have scored. Both to score and Inverness to win 3-1.
Partick Th v Aberdeen
Partick have scored a penalty in their last two home matches (centre-half Aaron Muirhead is the taker). Aberdeen have scored three penalties in their last two away matches although their man Niall McGinn was injured on Northern Ireland duty in midweek. Apparently he's really crocked and not just in hiding after his side's defeat in Luxembourg. A penalty awarded and scored 4-1.
St Johnstone v Hibs
Liam Craig visits Perth for the first time as a Hibs player. He has scored seven goals for St Johnstone against Hibs since 2010. Craig to score anytime and Hibs win 9-1.
St Mirren v Motherwell
There was a late goal scored in each of the three meetings between the sides last season. Match goal 81st Minute to full-time 6-4.
Ross County v Dundee Utd (Sun)
There hasn't been a goal scored in the first half in the last eight meetings between these sides. No first-half goals 9-5.
Rangers v Arbroath (League 1)
Nicky Law will play his first match as an official Rangers player Law to score and Rangers to beat Arbroath 5-1.
Oddschecker state that Rangers have won six of their seven matches this season by two or more goals and 17 out of 25 at Ibrox in the league last season.
McBookie.com are offering 7-2 on Rangers breaking the Scottish scoring record of 135 league goals achieved by Morton in 1963-64.
Rangers have averaged 4.5 goals per game this season and over 4.5 goals in their match at home to Arbroath on Saturday pays 9-4 at Ladbrokes.
Bet365 offer Rangers -2 at 11-10 and -3 at 11-5.
Rangers -2 is on my Big Hitters Treble in Saturday's Daily Record along with Celtic and Real Madrid and pays 2-1 at Titanbet.
Interesting stuff there Paul, I do love a stat!
Over 2.5 goals in the rangers match is 2/5 which I think is a great price!
Greg, it’s good stuff. I think folk will be all over the overs and handicaps at Rangers tomorrow. Right, off to walk the dug, that’s me for just now.
I’ll be one of them Mr F, just need to decide what market I’m doing! Enjoy the walk :)
Muirhead is an interesting one, defender taking pens and 13/2 anytime scorer. could do it weekly and probably still make a profit by end of season. 6 bets up all season all thats needed roughly
Craig, last season he of course hit them in the First Division and you could get 33-1 and 40-1 before bookies realised he took pens. Unusual for a centre-half but only one I can remember him missing is in the Challenge Cup Final last season.
Paul like to hear you talking up rangers for a wee change. We are going to destroy them all this season Paul.
Tony, I talk from a betting viewpoint, whether it’s Rangers or Celtic. My only bias surrounds Clydebank.
Tony to be fair Rangers should be smashing everyone in that division and shouldn’t be dropping points too anyone with the squad fat Sally has at his disposal
A hope your right. We need a good Scottish cup run against SPL teams to c how good the team really is.
A know u do Paul it has just sunk in for me wer rangers are. An with this team we have this season am expecting good things. Time will tell a suppose. Good luck with cbank this season.
For all teams to score in the SPL over a weekend is pretty decent odds, not sure how often it happens though….who is this Muirhead guy you talk of?
John, Muirhead is Partick Thistle’s penalty taker, skipper and centre-half so good odds to score and has two pens already this season. Not sure about the stats re both to score but don’t think all 12 score very often.
