ARSENAL resume their Premier League title bid with a trip to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United on Monday night.
Mikel Arteta’s men have stormed back into the title race after stringing together six successive top-flight victories.
The most recent of those successes was another real statement of intent, as the Gunners romped to a 4-1 win over Newcastle, bringing up both of my suggested plays in the process.
With both Liverpool and Man City in action on Saturday and Sunday respectively, Arsenal will look to fulfil their end of the bargain by putting Sheffield United to the sword.
Relegation is an inevitability for the beleaguered Blades who slumped to their 19th league defeat of the season when going down 1-0 at Wolves last weekend.
Whilst Chris Wilder’s side still have a mathematical chance of retaining their Premier League status, high-flying Arsenal should nudge them closer to the top-flight trapdoor on Monday night.
Outright Betting
Sheffield United are a whopping 18/1 (Ladbrokes) to earn what would be just their fourth league win of the season while a share of the Steel City spoils is also considered improbable at 7/1 (William Hill).
Arsenal are comfortable 2/11 favourites on Bet 365 favourites to claim what would be a seventh consecutive Premier League victory.
Betting Angles
With Arsenal understandably unbackable at the above-mentioned price, I’ll head to the Bet Builder and combine an away win alongside Over 2 Arsenal Corners and Anel Ahmedhodžić to commit a foul at 4/5 (Bet 365).
As already alluded to, Arsenal are in flying form and they should secure another three points with room to spare against a Sheffield United side who look doomed to the drop.
The Blades have been battered 5-0 in each of their last two Premier League home games, which does not bode well ahead of a visit from an Arsenal side who have recorded 6-0 and 5-0 wins across their last two top-flight road trips.
As such, backing the Gunners to bank three points at Bramall Lane is a no-brainer, but to boost the odds, I’ll also take the visitors to earn at least three corners.
Mikel Arteta’s men are averaging a sizeable 7.58 corners per-game in the Premier League this season, so a mere three flag-kicks should be within reach against their hapless hosts.
To wrap up the 4/5 (Bet 365) Bet Builder, I’ll also opt for Sheffield United's Anel Ahmedhodžić to commit a minimum of one foul.
The Bosnian defender has been the Blades’ most prolific hatchet-man in the Premier League this term, clocking up eight yellow cards and averaging 1.3 fouls per-game in the process, and that trend should continue here given the pace and flair that Arsenal carry in attacking areas.
Switching attention to the anytime goalscorer market, I’ll also side with Bukayo Saka to strike at 5/4 on Bet 365.
The Arsenal talisman has made the net bulge in each of his last five Premier League appearances and he merits odds-against consideration to continue his hot-streak in front of goal against the leakiest defence in the division
