SEVILLA welcome relegation-threatened Elche to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Wednesday aiming to cement their Champions League spot in La Liga.
The hosts ended a miserable run with a weekend victory in their derby clash against Real Betis after they were dumped out of both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
And they will be aiming to get their season back on track against Fran Escriba's battling side who are currently a point clear of relegation with a game in hand over nearest rivals Alaves.
The visitors have a habit of digging out big results when it matters and appear to be doing just enough to save themselves. It's a quick repeat of a game between the same two sides that took place just 11 days ago in Alicante where Elche stunned Sevilla.
But with Sevilla five points behind third-placed Barcelona, it's the kind of game they daren't afford to not collect three points.
How do the bookies view it?
The home side are warm favourites at 10/27 with Tonybet. Elche are as big as 8/1 with Betfred and the draw can be backed at 19/5 with Unibet.
Recent head to heads
As mentioned, the sides played just 11 days ago at Elche's Manuel Martínez Valero Stadium and goals from Guti and Guido Carrillo gave them a two-goal lead before an injury time consolation from Luuk de Jong.
In fact, that was Elche's first ever victory in their history over Sevilla. Elche have lost in their two previous visits to Sevilla.
Players to watch
Youssef En-Nesyri scored the only goal of the derby with Real Betis at the weekend and that was his first La Liga goal since the beginning of February. He scored a double against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League though so appears to be back in form and is evens to score anytime with bet365.
Elche's Argentinian hitman Guido Carrillo scored what turned out to be the winner against Sevilla and, while three goals in 15 games isn't exactly prolific, he's as good an option as any in a team whose top scorer, Lucas Boye, has only five goals. He's 4/1 with bet365 to score anytime.
Anything else catch the eye?
Elche's last three games have all finished in a 2-1 scoreline and 56 per cent of their games have finished with both teams scoring. They netted against Real Madrid at the weekend too. The odds-against quote of 5/4 with SportNation is begging to be backed.
The visitors won the bookings count 4-0 in the last game earlier this month and therefore the 4/6 on offer from Betway on Elche to get the first booking looks solid.
Elche rarely get battered – they've only lost by three goals twice this season and once was on the opening day of the season and the other time was at Barcelona.
With that in mind, Elche +1.25 on the Asian handicap at 49/50 with Unibet is attractive.
