RANGERS produced their best performance under Michael Beale in midweek when they romped to an easy win at Hearts and their fans will be expecting more of the same when Ross County visit Ibrox on Saturday.
Beale's side were utterly dominant against a naive Hearts team in midweek, who completely played into Rangers' hands with a bizarre tactical line-up and approach.
They could and should have scored at least double their eventual 4-0 win and he's now won eight of the nine games he's been in charge in the league, with the exception being a 2-2 draw against Celtic that they arguably should have won too.
The additions of Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell look astute ones and their injury crisis is beginning to ease too. It looks to be too late to make a difference in the title race, with Celtic also cruising, but they are in a far better place than earlier in the campaign.
The Staggies have never beaten Rangers, but they have enjoyed a good week after hammering Kilmarnock and getting a point against a Hibs side who took six off of Aberdeen.
Malky Mackay made some decent additions in the transfer window and has the experience of battling out a relegation fight.
How the bookies view it
Rangers are red hot favourites at 1/7. Ross County can be backed at 22/1 with William Hill and the draw is 9/1 with bet365.
Recent head to heads
Rangers are unbeaten in all 17 meetings between the clubs and have won both games this season home and away without conceding a goal.
Players to watch
Alfredo Morelos put himself back in the headlines by scoring and noising up the crowd against Hearts. The controversial Colombian is 10/13 to score with UniBet.
County swooped for Queen's Park hitman anf former Hibs and Dundee United striker Simon Murray on deadline day and he is 7/1 to score with William Hill.
Anything else catch the eye?
The gap between the Old Firm and the rest of Scottish football is probably bigger than ever. It's such a yawning chasm that third and fourth place Hearts and Livingston were utterly annihilated in midweek against the Glasgow giants.
So although County have picked up and are doing well, this is an entirely different game and they are likely to be completely overrun like everyone else.
The obvious bet here is the 5/6 with William Hill on Rangers to win to nil as they have managed twice already this season against the Dingwall outfit.
If Rangers can score four at Tynecastle they can do it here and the 7/4 with McBookie.com on Rangers to score over 3.5 goals should come up too.
