TWO teams with very different Premier League priorities square off on Sunday afternoon as Newcastle welcome Tottenham to St James' Park.
The Toons relegation fears have intensified following a wretched run of just two wins from their last 20 top-flight tussles.
Last time out, Steve Bruce's side slumped to a 3-0 loss at relegation rivals Brighton, on a night where my recommended Bet Builder banked.
As such, more pressure has mounted on the beleaguered Magpies boss, however, Bruce appears to have been granted a stay of execution by the Newcastle hierarchy.
Tottenham, meanwhile, gave their season a much-needed shot in the arm with a 2-0 victory at Aston Villa a fortnight ago, on a night where all three of my tips came up.
That was just the tonic for Jose Mourinho's team following a humbling Europa League exit, not to mention it's a result that keeps Spurs' top-four hopes alive.
Outright Betting
Newcastle have lost nine of their last 14 league matches and the bookies odds suggest that trend is set to continue with a Toon triumph trading at 5/1 with Bet 365 and the stalemate is priced up at 3/1 with TonyBet.
Tottenham have emerged victorious from each of their last three visits to this venue and another Spurs success on Sunday is odds-on at 4/7 with Bet 365.
Betting Angles
Tottenham look a bit too short to side with here at the aforementioned odds but combining an away win alongside at least one Newcastle card will give us a nice looking 5/6 shot with Bet 365.
Newcastle have won just one of their last eight Premier league home matches, while Tottenham have collected half of their current 48 points total whilst playing away from their north London base.
It's also worth noting that confidence-stricken Newcastle have conceded in 24/29 Premier League matches this season and the Magpies have manged to record just one clean sheet – a 0-0 draw with lowly West Brom – across their last 15 league matches.
Spurs, on the other hand, have endured a stop-start season, but they remain firmly in the mix for a top-four finish and Jose Mourinho will have earmarked this fixture as one to win.
The Portuguese has some serious firepower at his disposal and I suspect Tottenham's top-heavy attack will prove too hot to handle for a Newcastle team who are perched precariously above the Premier League drop zone.
However, the relegation-threatened hosts should put up a fight here and with that in mind, I'll throw in at least one Newcastle card in order to nudge up the price on the above-mentioned Bet Builder.
Bruce's boys are averaging 1.83 bookings per game this season and it's worth noting that they have clocked up at least one caution in nine of their last 11 Premier League outings.
After successfully backing Harry Kane to score in each of his last two appearances for England, I'll also head to the anytime goalscorer market and take the 20/21 on offer with UniBet for the Spurs striker to get on the scoresheet at St James' Park on Sunday.
The Tottenham talisman has notched up five goals across his last five appearances for his club and fresh off the back of adding another two strikes to his international tally, Kane will smell blood when faced with a brittle Newcastle backline this weekend.
