Burnley have suffered five successive defeats in the Premier League and it would be a surprise if they ended that sorry sequence away to Newcastle United.
The Clarets looked to have a decent chance of staying up when they won back-to-back games against relegations rivals Leeds and Wolves in October.
But they haven't picked up a single point since then and Wednesday's 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace, which brought up a bet for Slips Tips, has left them four points adrift of safety.
Getting back on track away to Newcastle won't be easy, with Eddie Howe's side on a three-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
I backed the Magpies to make it three successive league wins at home to Spurs in midweek so was left hugely frustrated when Cristian Romero's stoppage-time overhead kick sealed an undeserved point for Tottenham.
But it was another impressive home performance from the Magpies and they should have too much class for Scott Parker's side if they hit top gear.
How the bookies view it: Clarets up against it
Newcastle are heavy favourites with home advantage and their best price is just 3/10 with William Hill. Burnley are as big as 17/2 with Bet365 and the draw pays 5/1 with the same firm.
Recent head to head: Magpies bossing it
Burnley have found Newcastle a tough nut to crack in recent years, going eight games without a win in this fixture. The Magpies have won six of those matches, including a 2-0 triumph on Burnley's last visit to St James' Park in 2023.
Players to watch: Bruno packs a punch
Howe gave Bruno Guimaraes a bit of a breather in midweek but the Brazilian changed the game when he came on at half-time. He's 5/1 with Bet365 to repeat the goal he scored against Spurs and a decent 13/8 to score or assist.
Armando Broja has come off the bench in Burnley's last three games and Parker may opt to start him in a bid to revive his side's fortunes. The former Chelsea striker is 5/1 at Ladbrokes for anytime scorer.
Probable line-ups
Newcastle look set to be without Yoane Wissa, Will Osula, Nick Pope, Sven Botman, Kieran Trippier and Emil Kraft again.
Burnley have fewer injury issues, with only Connor Roberts, Jordan Beyer and Zeki Amdouni on the sidelines.
Newcastle United: Ramsdale, Hall, Schar, Thiaw, Livramento, Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Gordon, Elanga, Woltemade.
Burnley: Dubravka, Walker, Hartman, Esteve, Tuanzebe, Florentino, Flemming, Cullen, Mejbri, Broja, Tchaouna.
Anything else catch the eye?
Going for Newcastle corners salvaged something for me in midweek and they could rack up plenty more today with Burnley likely to defend deep.
Over 7.5 Magpies corners pays 7/5 at Paddy Power while backing Newcastle at -4 in the handicap is 11/10 with the same firm.
Burnley have conceded an average of three goals per game on the road in the Premier League this season so that suggests Howe's attack could get some joy. Backing a Newcastle win with over 2.5 goals pays 5/6 at SkyBet while BOYLE Sports offer 20/23 on the Magpies leading at half-time and full-time.
Veteran full-back Kyle Walker faces a tough shift against Howe's speedy wingers and he's 9/4 at Bet365 to commit over 1.5 fouls.
