Napoli vs Legia Warsaw

, KO: 20:00 Oct 21, 2021, Stadio Diego Armando Maradona
Legia Warsaw

Napoli will be aiming to breathe some life into their UEFA Europa League campaign as they host Legia Warsaw in their third Group C fixture. Legia are the surprise leaders of the group but Napoli are desperate for a win and with their backs against the wall, should produce a reaction here.

Napoli are without a win in the Europa League having claimed just one point from their first two matches. They came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Leicester City in their opening fixture before losing 3-2 to Spartak Moscow.

It has been a different case for Napoli in Serie A where they have a 100% record after eight matches. They head into Thursday’s clash off the back of a 1-0 victory over Torino in their previous domestic fixture with Victor Osimhen netting the only goal.

Manager Luciano Spalletti will be keen for Napoli to transfer some of their domestic dominance to the continent. They have shown their attacking quality in the competition but will need to tighten up at the back with five goals conceded already in just two matches.

Legia Warsaw earned a 1-0 victory over Leicester City in their previous Europa League fixture. They rode their luck a few times with Leicester missing a number of good chances but in the end Mahir Emreli's first half effort proved to be the difference.

While Legia Warsaw are the surprise leaders in Group C of the Europa League, they are struggling in the Polish league. Czeslaw Michniewicz's men have lost their last three domestic fixtures and are currently 15th on the standings.

Legia Warsaw have been a bit lucky at the back in the Europa League as they tend to give away chances to the opposition. They have conceded seven goals in their last three domestic matches and may struggle to keep out Napoli’s impressive attack.

Despite being winless in the competition, Napoli are still considered overwhelming favourites among the bookies at 3/19 with SBK. BetVictor is offering 20/1 for an unlikely Legia Warsaw victory while a draw is set at odds of 31/4 by MansionBet.
