Manchester United will look to continue their climb up in the Premier League table as they welcome rock-bottom Wolves to Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Manchester United bounced back from their 2-1 defeat away at in-form Aston Villa, as they ground out a 1-0 victory at home to poor-travelling Newcastle United.
That victory was only Manchester United’s third win from their last nine Premier League matches, and put a halt to their three-match winless run at Old Trafford.
That result moved Ruben Amorim’s men up to sixth in the Premier League table, just three points behind champions Liverpool in fourth.
Wolves’ miserable season continued on Saturday, as they lost 2-1 away at reigning champions Liverpool on an afternoon I landed a 23/20 winner.
Rob Edwards’s men have picked up a dismal two points across their opening 18 Premier League fixtures this season (W0-D2-L16) and already look destined to be playing Championship football next campaign.
How the bookies view it: Red Devils clear favourites
Despite their inconsistency, it comes as no surprise that Manchester United are clear favourites for this clash, with bet365 pricing a home success at just 4/11.
Bet365 have Wolves as 15/2 underdogs to claim their first Premier League victory this season, whilst the draw is also unfancied at 4/1.
Head to head: United to do the double over Wolves?
Wolves did the double over Manchester United last season, but Ruben Amorim’s men have the opportunity to do the double over their visitors this season after winning the reverse fixture 1-4 at the beginning of the month.
Players to watch: Cunha to haunt his old club?
Matheus Cunha has endured a slow start to his Manchester United career, with the ex-Wolves man scoring just three goals and providing one assist across his opening 15 Premier League appearances.
However, the Brazilian has provided a goal contribution in three of Manchester United’s last four Premier League outings, and is an appealing 20/21 at bet365 to score against his former club.
Predicted line-ups:
Manchester United will be without the injured Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes, whilst Noussair Mazraoui, Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo are away to the Africa Cup of Nations.
Wolves will be without the injured Dan Bentley, Toti Gomes Jean-Ricner Bellgarde, Rodrigo Gomes and Marshall Munetsi, whilst Emmanuel Agbadou and Tawanda Chirewa are away at AFCON duty.
Manchester United: Lammens, Martinez, Heaven, Shaw, Dalot, Casemiro, Ugarte, Dorgu, Cunha, Zirkzee, Sesko
Wolverhampton Wanderers: Sa, Mosquera, Krejci, Bueno, Doherty, Andre, Gomes, Bueno, Mane, Hwang, Arokodare
Anything else catch the eye?
Manchester United kept just their second of the season in their 1-0 victory over Newcastle United on Friday night, but I’m still not convinced with their defence.
Both Teams to Score has paid out in a league-high 13/18 (72%) of Manchester United’s Premier League encounters this season, and a repeat pays an appealing 10/11 at bet365.
This selection also landed in the reverse fixture at the beginning of the month, as well as in Wolves’ last two Premier League away games at leaders Arsenal and reigning champions Liverpool.
