Liverpool will take on Bologna on Wednesday, 2 October in what will be Arne Slot's first experience of a European night at Anfield.
The Reds have been very good under the Dutchman so far, winning all but one of their matches in all competitions and recorded an away win against AC Milan in their first Champions League outing a fortnight ago.
Bologna have struggled to replicate the form they showed last season and only managed to pick up a point in their hoping Champions League match against Shakhtar.
How the bookies view it: Liverpool the red-hot favourites
It's not often that Liverpool go into any match at Anfield as the underdogs and they are once against the odds-on favourites on Wednesday night. Betfred have priced a home win at 2/11 while a win for Bologna has been priced as long as 14/1. The draw, which would be Bologna's sixth of the season already, has been priced 6/1.
Recent head-to-head: A first competitive meeting
This will be the first time that Liverpool and Bologna have faced off in a competitive match which isn't too surprising when you consider this is the away side's first time in Europe's elite competition in 60 years.
Liverpool have a long and fabled history in Europe and have encountered Italian opponents on 35 occasions. Their record against them isn't great, with 14 wins, 15 defeats and six draws.
Players to watch: Lightning Luis becoming the main man?
For the past seven years, Mo Salah has been the main man at Liverpool but with the Egyptian now in the final year of his contract, there is a sense that the club are preparing for the future without the 32-year-old.
While Darwin Nunez was perhaps meant to be the man to replace Salah in the long term, it's his fellow South American, Luis Diaz, who has seemingly cracked the art of finishing over the summer. Like Nunez, Diaz has often been accused of failing to have an end product, but he has been near-perfect in front of goal this season much to the delight of the Liverpool faithful.
So far, Diaz has scored five goals in all competitions for the Reds and is the club's top scorer. Don't discount more Mo magic, though, as Salah is only one goal behind Diaz on four. Could the pair fire Liverpool to a seventh Champions League triumph this season?
Predicted line-ups
Andy Robertson is a doubt for Liverpool after being hit hard at the weekend but Darwin Nunez should return to the squad after missing the trip to Wolves with an illness. Bologna are without Lewis Ferguson, Tommaso Pobega and Oussama El Azzouzi while Santiago Castro is a doubt.
Liverpool: Alisson – Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Konate, Tsimikas – Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai – Salah, Gakpo, Diaz
Bologna: Skorupski – Posch, Lucumi, Beukema, Lykogiannis – Aebischer, Moro, Freuler – Orsolini, Dallinga, Ndoye
Anything else catch the eye?
Mo Salah is chasing more history on Wednesday night as he looks to become the first Liverpool player in history to score in five successive Champions League matches in a row at Anfield. The Egyptian usually produces when chasing moments like these and he is 4/5 to score anytime with Betfred.
