LEICESTER'S top-four hopes are hanging by a thread and they can ill-afford another slip-up when they face in-form Sheffield United at the King Power on Thursday evening.
The Foxes quest for Champions League qualification has faltered following a damaging run of just one win from their six Premier League games since the resumption.
Brendan Rodgers' men self-destructed on Sunday night when falling to a 4-1 defeat away at lowly Bournemouth but fortunately for the Foxes their top-four rivals failed to capitalise on their south coast collapse.
The King Power club begin their final three rounds of fixtures against a Sheffield United outfit who themselves are targeting a tilt continental football next term.
The Blades bid for Europa League football next season has received a massive boost following brilliant back-to-back homes wins over Wolves and Chelsea respectively.
Consequently, Chris Wilder's side have shot up to seventh place in the Premier League table where they find themselves just five points behind the fourth-placed Foxes.
Outright Betting
Leicester, despite winning just two of their last 11 Premier League matches, are Even-Money with BetVictor to get back to winning ways on Thursday evening.
Sheffield United have won only one of their last eight Premier League away matches and the Blades are as big as 16/5 with BetVictor to claim all three points at the King Power while a point apiece is priced up at 12/5 with William Hill
Betting Angles
I successfully backed Sheffield United with a one goal start on the asian handicap when they hosted Chelsea last Saturday and I wouldn't be surprised to see this battle-hardened Blades outfit add to Leicester's woes on Thursday evening.
There is little value in backing the Blades with a +1 start this time around at a general 4/11, however, I do like the look of backing Wilder's men with 0.5 start on the asian handicap at 9/10 with Bet 365.
Taking this approach would have banked profit when siding with 11 of Leicester's last 14 Premier League opponents and I'm happy to have a play on a repeat here given the fact that Sheffield United have turned over Chelsea, Tottenham and Wolves in their last three matches.
What's more, Brendan Rodgers faces a pile up on the King Power absentee list with both Caglar Soyuncu (suspended) and Ricardo Pereira (injured) definitely unavailable while Ben Chilwell and James Maddison are both injury doubts.
With that in mind coupled with the fact the Foxes have recorded just five clean sheets across their last 19 matches in all competitions, I fancy the Blades to breach what will be a patched up Leicester backline.
The south Yorkshire side have scored in each of their last five matches – notching against five of the current top 10 – and it's also worth noting that Sheffield United have lost just four of their 17 top-flight road trips this term.
A Sheffield United strike looks a bit skinny at 8/15 with Bet 365, however, adding at least one Blades booking when making use of Bet 365's Bet Builder feature will boost the price up to a nice looking 4/5 shot.
Wilder's men have picked up at least one card in seven of their eight run-outs since the resumption and one Blades booking doesn't look like too much to ask for in what should be a closely-fought contest at the King Power.
