Leeds United vs Burnley

, KO: 20:00 , Elland Road
Burnley

Leeds United will look to take a huge step in confirming their Premier League status as they welcome already-relegated Burnley to Elland Road on Friday Night Football.

Leeds saw their hopes of reaching a first FA Cup final since 1973 come to an end last Sunday, as they were beaten 1-0 by managerless Chelsea.

However, Daniel Farke will take confidence from the fact that his side are unbeaten in each of their previous five Premier League matches (W2-D3-L0), after twice coming from a goal down to draw 2-2 at in-form Bournemouth last time out.

The Whites are six points clear of the relegation zone with just four matches to play, and know that if they record back-to-back home wins for the first time this season, their Premier League status will be almost secured for another season.

Burnley, on the other hand, have seen their immediate return to the Championship confirmed after they lost 0-1 at home to title-chasing Manchester City last time out.

Scott Parker’s hosts have now picked up a solitary point from their last seven Premier League outings (W0-D1-L6) – as well as winning just one of their past 25 league matches (W1-D7-L17).

How the bookies view it: Leeds favourites

Unsurprisingly, Leeds are priced up as clear favourites to record a third Premier League victory from their last four matches, with bet365 pricing a home success at just 21/50.

Burnley are 13/2 underdogs to claim a rare Premier League victory, whilst the draw is 7/2.

Head to head: Three unbeaten for the Clarets

Burnley are unbeaten in each of their previous three meetings with Leeds United (W2-D1-L0), including a 2-0 success in the reverse fixture at Turf Moor in October.

Players to watch: More away-day success for Zian?

Zian Flemming is Burnley’s top-scorer in the Premier League this season, scoring nine times across his opening 27 appearances, with four of them across his last seven outings.

Curiously, eight (89%) of those goals have come away from home – including strikes in the Clarets’ last three away matches at Chelsea, Fulham and Nottingham Forest – and the Dutchman is an appealing 3/1 at bet365 to score once again on his travels.

Predicted line-ups:

Leeds will be missing the injured Ilia Gruev, whilst Gabriel Gudmundsson is a doubt.

Burnley are expected to be missing the injured Connor Roberts, Jordan Beyer, Josh Cullen and Zeki Amdouni, whilst Hannibal is a doubt.

Leeds United: Darlow, Justin, Bijol, Struijk, Bogle, Ampadu, Tanaka, Gudmundsson, Aaronson, Okafor, Calvert-Lewin

Burnley: Dubravka, Walker, Esteve, Ekdal, Hartman, Ward-Prowse, Luis, Ugochukwu, Edwards, Anthony, Flemming

Anything else catch the eye?

Leeds suffered FA Cup heartbreak last weekend, but you’d fully expect them to bounce back from that and take another step in sealing their Premier League status for next season with a win under the lights at Elland Road.

Both of Leeds’s recent victories have featured Over 2.5 Goals – including a 3-0 success over relegated Wolves in their last home fixture – so combining a home win with over 2.5 goals appeals, which pays 21/20 at Coral/Ladbrokes.

What’s more 12 of Burnley’s 17 away matches in the Premier League this season have featured three or more goals, including in 10/12 (83%) of their defeats.
